I'm about halfway through it and I don't really like it.
I quite enjoyed this series, but I can't say it was one of my favorite. I wish they had expanded the ending a bit more though, I felt that the ending was quite sudden. And I didn't quite like the antagonists of the story, Yul or the other girl. But the unique soundtrack made up for it.

*spoiler* and @Ashu, about the sister becoming Queen I think it made a lot of sense. Throughout the series the two leads kept fighting for the throne for many reasons, however actually ruling over a country and group of people never seemed to be one of the reasons. I think the sister genuinely cared about the country and the citizens of the country and for her to become the Queen, though a little sudden, made perfect sense.

I pretty much found it sucky. It started off pretty well, but I just can't STAND Eun Hye. I watched her in Coffee Prince as well, and I had to force myself to finish both the dramas. I just don't like her. The Prince was a plain during the whole drama, and Lee Yul.. I don't even know where to start. The actor was cute I guess, but the character was HORRIBLE. Annoying, blind and just bleeeh. And what's the deal with the ending? *DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED IT* His sister just becomes the queen? Easy as that? W-t-f? Not to mention Yul and his mother. After fighting so hard, they just took off? No one tried punishing them for what they did? AND WHAT ABOUT THE ROMANCE BETWEEN SHIN AND CHAEGYUNG'S FRIENDS!? D:< It was clearly implied, and I was waiting for that. T.T Awkward love is great, and it could have saved the drama for me. >_>

I think you really have to like the characters and get past the actors to enjoy it. If you don't enjoy the actress you are not going to like the character and anything else past that is just noise. I am not a Eun Hye fan either but she does some good acting. I thought she was good in Coffee Prince but I DETESTED her in Take Care Of The Young Lady. I like that she has a wide range of acting. She is more than just ONE character (i.e. innocent, daft girl EVERY role).

I actually liked GOONG but I can relate to what you are saying. It's been awhile since I watched it but I remember it clearly. I am sure if I watched it again it would annoy me. I like to say GOONG is a "starter"; it's one of the first shows you watch when you first find KDrama. It's a nice introduction and has a good solid base into everything a KDrama is really all about. Now if you want to hate on ANYTHING Goong you need to try watching the follow-up series, Goong S. THAT, my friend, is one of THE WORST shows I have ever endured. I always thought it would get better but it never did.

Amen to that.

I would also say A LITTLE but not too much. Goong is more complicated and closer to a ROYAL story with more complicated protocol than what My Princess is. Plus My Princess is too tangled into the chaebol story; it loses its focus.
My first drama ever. (and it seems that I'm not alone) I read the manhwa first and I still prefer the manhwa, ever though I like the drama too.
I don't know if this called a spioler:but i really like when they got locked in for their "wedding night" I'm never getting tired of watching that scene xD

Goong is the best Kdrama ever. I never got tired of it.
And due to my addiction, I am currently reading the manhwa.
I am sooo in love with Shin and Chae-kyeong. ^^

Capital Scandal. You recognize it? If you haven't watched it, you really should. It's one of the best dramas I've seen! ^^
Goong was the first Kdrama I watched and I fell completely in love with it. It's got a lot of funny parts in it I think. The relationship between the two mains is interesting. I wound up buying it on dvd so now I can just watch it on the telly whenever I want to.
Goong use Teddy Bear acts in every ending same with Playful Kiss.
