Alright...
You know how they do certain things in dramas like prick the thumb and squeeze out the "bad blood" when someone has indigestion?
Well, I've seen many times in dramas where they'll eat this white ball...thing when they're nervous or before they take a big test. I'm wondering if anyone knows what this is?
I've seen it in Playful Kiss and Dream High recently, and I'm wondering what it is.
Thanks! ^^
A white ball? You mean, like tofu? Do you have a link of the scene? I haven't seen PK but I have seen DREAM HIGH but I do not remember that.

Here you go. ^^
It happens around 4:40
She opens that little white case and pops some...thing in her mouth.
I've seen this done many times in dramas.
I think what Baek Hee ate was the cheongsimhwan Hye Sun was talking about, around 3:45 about tradition medicinal herbs used to relax. Or something like that. Hope that helps ^-^
As Sgramirez already explained, they are taking Cheongsimhwan, a traditional Korean herbal medicine which is considered good for anxiety and nervous states.

*Cheongsimhwan, a traditional Korean herbal medicine, is composed of about 30 different kinds of herbs. This herbal medicine is believed to promote the circulation of the peripheral blood.* font: clinical research grant from Pusan National University Hospital 2010.

Needless to say, the clinical research did not found out that the medicine is effective; it only stated that it didn't have effects. :P
Ooh, I saw this in Romance Town as well. I've always been curious, thanks for explaining guys.
Awesome! Thanks guys. ^^
Okay...so I want to add another question.

What does it mean when they touch their tongue, then the nose and back in rapid succession?
The nose-tongue in rapid succession is usually when an arm or a leg has fallen asleep. Or anything else for that matter.

Funny enough........is the fact that I've tried that. Doesn't work. Maybe it's a mental thing. Not sure.
I've heard of one where you touch your ears after touching something hot so the heat won't hurt your fingers. Don't know if it works, but I'm definitely trying it and that nose-tongue thing in the future (x Koreans have such weird but fascinatingly interesting remedies for sicknesses (for lack of a more accurate word, I'll call them sicknesses).
