Basically, what the title implies. That means no secret crushes or romantic undertones. Simply platonic vibes. I'd like the friend group to have four or more people, as well as a mix of girls and boys ('cause I like the message that opposite genders can be strictly platonic). The drama does not have to begin with the characters as a group of friends. E.g:  a ragtag group of people met one day and gradually bonded throughout the series. Of course, there can be a romantic subplot in the drama, but just not within the friend group.

Having crime or mystery genres is a plus, but not a requirement. No sageuk or wuxias please! (historical dramas set within the time period of the early 1990s to the late 1990s are fine for me.)

You can rec any drama that I already have in my PTW because chances are, I didn't add it because of this specific trope.

I watch Korean and Japanese dramas, but I don't mind Chinese recommendations. Thanks in advance :)

Mixed group of friends with no romance is hard to find but I recommend:

White Christmas (school/mystery), Age of Youth (female friendship/slice of life), Hospital Playlist 1 & 2 (friendship/hospital),  Eulachacha Waikiki 1 & 2 (friendship/comedy) and the Reply series (Reply 1994, Reply 1997, Reply 1988) although these are more focused on romance/love triangles.

Age of Youth is my go to friendship drama and since it’s already on your list I recommend giving it a try.

Thank you! I'll give it a try :)

okay- hear me out on this one, hospital playlist season 1 & 2 has one of my favorite friend groups in dramas. there is one pairing within the group that eventually develops into a romantic relationship but it is very natural, not central in the plot, not dramatic and just purely wholesome, and it doesn't effect the rest of the friend group or their dynamics at all.

That's a tough request, but I think The Uncanny Counter and Be Melodramatic apply. In The Uncanny Counter, there are 4 characters that have to work together and although there are some minor romantic innuendos between 2 of them, nothing actually happens. The group consists of 2 females and 2 males, 2 of them being significantly older than the other 2. And in Be Melodramatic, there are 4 too, although they are 3 women and 1 man, who is one of the women's brother and is also gay.
