I'd like any country, any language, any Asian country's dramas where 1 character (doesn't have to be ML or even SML, could be a side or a 3rd ML even) is the overbearing Emperor. Historical or not. I'm very open-minded. Like The Story of YunXi, The Story of Yanxi Palace, Emperor or General, Emperor or Boss and Mischievous Princess. I'm open to Thai, Fillipino and other Asian countries' dramas as well. Happy ending please. No gushing blood or violence. FL MUST BE a COMMONER or lower standing nobility lady is fine too.

All of these dramas have happy endings or something very close (for the latter I've included explanations) and most have scenes that depict violence and medical care, but nothing particularly graphic as far as I can recall.

  • The Imperial Doctress - ML starts out as emperor. SML takes over as acting emperor and is very overbearing. The FL is from a lower standing noble family and judged harshly for wanting to practice medicine (as it was not considered appropriate for a noble lady). The ending is open but strongly suggests that the leads are about to finally find happiness together
  • Sound of the Desert - The FL's true origin is not known. She lived with wolves for a time before being adopted by a noble man from the ML's kingdom and raised in a different kingdom. So she's presumably a commoner by blood but with a noble education. The emperor is related to the ML (his uncle or something?) and prevents the ML from marrying the FL (the emperor wanted the ML to marry someone else, and the only way the ML could refuse was by swearing off marrying anyone). The ML has to fake his own death and leave the capital in order to marry the FL. He does so, hence the happy ending
  • The Romance of Tiger and Rose - No actual emperors, but the ML's father and the FL's sort-of mother are each the rulers of their own city-states, which are enemies, and are each somewhat overbearing in their own way.  The FL is a regular woman from our world in modern times who is a writer for a historical drama, but she gets sucked into the world of the drama she is writing and takes over the body / role of the SFL (which becomes the role of the FL after she takes over). So the FL is technically a commoner, but becomes the equivalent of a princess.
  • The Eternal Love (1, 2 and 3) - The ML's father is a somewhat overbearing emperor. The FL is a regular woman from modern times. In season 1 she wakes up in the body of a noble woman in a kingdom similar to one you would find in ancient China. The end of season 1 is open while the ends of season 2 and 3 are happy
  • Lost Love in Times - The ML's father is an overbearing emperor. The FL is not a human noble woman but also isn't a commoner - she's a sorceress. The emperor considers the sorcerers to be his enemies and marriage between members of the royal family and sorcerers is forbidden.
  • Love Between Fairy and Devil - The ML is the ruthless ruler of the Moon Tribe. The FL is raised by her master in Shuiyuntian (the immortal fairy realm), which has its own overbearing emperor, and her rank there is very low.
