I know only a little bit about Thai customs but noticed that in Thai BL some things seem to have slightly different meanings so I have 3 questions
1. Touching the head: I know that in Thailand (and other Asian countries too) the head is considered the most sacred part of the body and there are specific prescriptions about it. However, in Thai BL you often see boyfriends or potential partners touching their heads. In “2Gether The Series” is even stranger because Wat often touches Tine head but Tine almost never touches Wat’s, Does it imply a specific type of relation?
2. A kiss on the forehead: In many countries, a kiss on the forehead is a form of blessing/good wish and is often given to a young person by an older/venerable person. But I noticed in some Thai BL, it seems almost a declaration of love. I may be wrong but that seems to be the meaning in “A Tale of 1000s Stars” airport scene. Can someone clarify?
3. Being a “boyfriend”: Many Thai BL it seems very important to ask and/or declare to be boyfriends. I don’t speak Thai so I wondered if the word in Thai has a different connotation. For example, in Season 2 of “Love by chance”, AFTER Tin and Can have already kissed and had sex, there is a whole scene on whether Can will accept being Tin’s boyfriend. I find that a bit puzzling.
Thank you
