101. Arthdal Chronicles Part 1: The Children of Prophecy
Korean Drama - 2019, 6 episodes
Finally completed on 3rd attempt. A lot of slow paced world building and terminology that I need to get used to. Loved the ending of this part. It's actually a really good attempt at competing with other western medieval fantasy shows. I'm hoping part 2 will be a bit more intense and fast paced cuz I was falling asleep at times.

102. Batsuichi ga Moteru nante Kiitemasen
Japanese Drama - 2023, 6 episodes
It had a good message around the stigma of being a divorced or older woman trying to find love. Ultimately, I couldn't ship this couple cuz I wanted FL to end up with the second lead. :P You know how they say first impressions matter? Well it was hard to get that first impression of ML out of my head. xD To be fair, ML has an amazing makeover, which happens very early on in the series. Also, FL's BFF owns a cat cafe so there is plenty of cat footage. This could've easily been a movie though, but I guess dramas get more views.

103. Nothing but You
Chinese Drama - 2023, 38 episodes
Story = 6.89. It's actually a very good production in terms of cast and direction. There was a lot of money put into it. The sports part of the story is pretty solid. HOWEVER, the drama is pretty stretched. If you don't like slow paced, this drama might struggle to hold your interest. It has a slow start and the tennis journey doesn't really start until about 8 episodes in. Just something to keep in mind. Also, whether you ship this couple will be hit or miss due to the noonamance. They had some natural chemistry together, but I'm not quite sure if I was on board this ship. The main things I appreciated were the direction and cinematography. Also, there were some well rounded characters as well as some realistically grey ones.

104. A Stranger in Shanghai
Japanese Special - 2019, 1 episode
Idk why I liked this so much. It felt like I was an actual traveler visiting Shanghai during this time period. The music was soothing and I found myself getting captured by people's stories that he met along the way. I forgot how beautifully multicultural Shanghai was. Chinese Republican Era dramas don't really focus on that aspect when depicting Shanghai back then...mainly the glamour, corruption, and negativity around foreigners. This drama special focuses on both the positive and negative sides of the city and its people from the perspective of an outsider. I can see why this writer was famous in Japan. There are a lot of beautiful analogies...even if some of them are beautifully morbid.

105. Return Man
Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
Plot = 7/10. I'm not a fan of episodic dramas, but this one grew on me. The transition from the end of one episode to the beginning of next is so smooth. I loved the bgm, which reminded me of F4 Thailand. This gang really grew on me. Plus, it's hard not to be biased with it comes to Alek. :3 Looking forward to s2.

106. Dong Lan Xue
Chinese Drama - 2023, 30 episodes
Slightly above average for one of those 2-3 minute minidramas. FL is gorgeous and she slays. The romantic scenes can get pretty steamy (quite literally). *fans self* The beginning is very fast paced. I actually had to slow down the playback speed to .75 to understand everything.

108. Arthdal Chronicles Part 3: The Prelude to All Legends
Korean Drama - 2019, 6 episodes
After a boring first two seasons, this was by far the most thrilling season so far. It's a shame it ended on such a note. I'm happy to hear the next season/conclusion will air some time this year. That being said, all three parts combined could've been done in 12 episodes. They just dragged the storyline, added all of these unnecessary extra characters/side stories, and made things more complicated than they needed to be. All the new terminology didn't help either. It was interesting how they included elements from multiple religions though. A clear story was finally beginning to form involving Eunsom going around and reuniting the tribes, but we were only able to catch the beginning of it. Conclusion: big budget dramas might seem shiny and cool, but there were a lot of wasted resources here. My average rating for parts 1-3 is 6.5.

109. The Love You Give Me
Chinese Drama - 2023, 28 episodes
I will never tire of this storyline. It had its cliche moments, but it was an entertaining drama and most definitely hit the spot if you like this genre and storyline. It had literally the cutest child actor in all the dramas I've watched this year...okay maybe he lands in top 2. He is surprisingly talented compared to the other kids I've seen this year. The drama can get a bit draggy at times, but not as bad as most dramas. It has the usual secondary and tertiary pairings. FL's bff's lipstick was a scene stealer. Speaking of scene stealers, the kid stole the show as best wingman/matchmaker.
Major themes: hidden child, heart health, #metooRich Male Lead ✔

110. The Little Dragon Girl
Chinese Movie - 2022
Cool graphics and costumes despite low budget vibe. There's lots of sexy leg exposure (you'll see what I mean). The story is okay. The acting is a bit weak (or maybe it's the dubbing). Decent watch if you like xianxias and have an hour to kill. The ending was a bit confusing for me.

112. 180 Degree Longitude Passes Through Us
Thai Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
A scenic and beautiful drama, albeit a slow paced one. I loved some of the analogies and dialogue. I loved the story about ML learning more about his dad. I don't blame him for falling for ML2 (dude had a dilf vibe going on). Unfortunately, I couldn't ship these two cuz it was a little too close to taboo territory for me and I got weirded out. I'd say this lands under the LGBTQ genre rather than your general Thai BL.
-
113. The Secret Romantic Guesthouse
Korean Drama - 2023, 18 episodes
This was pretty boring from the beginning that I was considering dropping it. However, it did a pretty good job of keeping me guessing on who everyone's secret identities were. Once their identities were revealed, there really wasn't much worth sticking around for. I should've dropped, but I was determined to see things through to the end. This is pretty forgettable.

114. Stealer: The Treasure Keeper
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
"There is no future for the nation that has forgotten its history. There is no past for the nation that has lost its cultural assets." This drama was a decent watch. Was it skippable? Yes. But somehow, it hit the spot for me. I guess an action comedy was refreshing after the last few dramas I watched. I should probably say this drama isn't actually THAT heavy on the comedy though, but it has its amusing moments. The main thief reminded me of Deadpool. I'd say this drama was a solid 7 for me for most of the drama. It's just that it got a bit draggy in the last 2 episodes. Also, the main villain is very cartoonish. It started to get very absurd toward the end. I'm glad they kept it 12 episodes instead of the usual 16.

115. Till the End of the Moon
Chinese Drama - 2023, 40 episodes
Explain a drama plot badly: Girl goes back in time to prevent Cinderella from becoming an evil devil that destroys the realms. This had a great main cast as well as costumes. The story was decent. It's just that for me the second half was very draggy and repetitive. Lots of long battle scenes. Also, a lot of people sacrificing themselves to save the other throughout multiple lives. It got repetitive for me. The dark side had the best costumes and makeup though.

117. Doctor Cha
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
Binge worthy and entertaining watch. Most of the series was a 7.5 for me. The last few episodes were a bit slow. I wouldn't say they were bad, but not the same energy as the rest of the series. I wasn't a fan of the change in story trajectory. The ending is something I predicted would happen. It's not my ideal outcome, but I have come to peace with it and can see why they went with this direction. A lot of people are pissed lol.

118. Oh No! Here Comes Trouble
Taiwanese Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
It was a creative and fun supernatural drama. It's been a while since a drama made laugh out loud multiple times. The graphics were fantastic. The cameos were also great. I'm going to miss this unlikely trio. The frenemy bromance was just the cherry on top. Some things might've been missed or left unanswered, but it's a really great production overall. I'd say this is semi-episodic, which might not be some people's cup of tea, but it becomes less so later on. I'd highly recommend it.

119. Divorce Attorney Shin
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
At first it reminded me of your typical legal jdrama that got turned into a kdrama. Then it just felt so bland. No stories really pulled me in except the main arch, which they stalled until the end. This writer has written many hits, but I think the problem here is that this was not one of her original works. It's adapted from a webcomic. Thus, the screenwriter had to work with constrictions. Not many writers can do this well. The main reason to check out this drama is for lead actor, who plays a bit a of goofy role this time unlike his previous roles. However, I don't think ML could've saved this drama for me. My favorite highlight was the restaurant granny reveal.

I wanted to like this soo bad. I LOVE the main cast and this drama and some gorgeous shots. Unfortunately, it is very slow paced. A lot of mopey depressed people walking around. 121. Gen Z
Chinese Drama - 2023, 40 episodes
This was just a relaxing and refreshing watch for me. FL is a bit of a wild child in the beginning, and it can get annoying sometimes, but her character growth and transformation by the end were great. I also loved her master and the rest of the student crew. It managed to touch on some serious topics, including a somewhat taboo one. I'm surprised they managed to fit it in by talking around it vaguely. Yes, there is some romance but it is not the main story. I wouldn't watch this just for the romance. The purpose of this drama was to promote traditional chinese medicine. It does get a bit preachy at times, but I didn't mind. My favorite actors + characters were the FL + master duo.

122. Junkyouju Takatsuki Akira no Suisatsu
Japanese Drama - 2021, 8 episodes
A supernatural mystery drama involving a college student who can detect lies and a college professor who specializes in Japanese folklore. The two team up to solve "supernatural" folklore related mysteries and debunk them. The concept was somewhat unique and the folklore stuff caught my interest. However, the the mysteries themselves were mostly boring and lost my interest.
-
123. My Lucky Star
Thai Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
This is a lakorn remake of my all time favorite Taiwanese drama. They took out a lot of the dirty jokes and made some of the characters more evil than they originally were. As a result, a lot of the comedy and wholesomeness is lost. This version is also more violent. This is nothing new for lakorn standards. If you've never seen the original and like lakorns, you will probably like it. If you have seen the original, you might be disappointed, but you have to keep in mind that this is a lakorn and therefore it will have more lakorn style drama.
Contract relationship and little girl storylines were removed in the interest of time. :/0 Reviews at Start ✔

124. The Journey of Chong Zi
Chinese Drama - 2023, 40 episodes
Woooow, this was baaad...in more ways than one. Let's start off with the messy writing. They spent so much time on the boring scenes than semi interesting ones. I mentally checked out so many times and had to go back to figure out what I missed. ML reminded me of a Ken doll (pretty, but mostly silent and expressionless). He was not a reliable character and did FL dirty so many times. People kept saying FL was childish, but I'm going to have to disagree. This was one of those "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me" situations. Poor FL was fooled twice and not about to let it happened a third time. Aside from that, I could NOT feel the chemistry between the two leads so it was very difficult to ship (especially when ML was so useless).
Anyways, FL's second life was pretty much a repeat of her first except she makes it further in life. You could actually skip to her 2nd life and you wont miss out. And then so many people just randomly start becoming demons without anything coming out of it. Anyways, the only reason I watched until the end was cuz it was so boring it would help me fall asleep at night. Otherwise, it's an absolute waste of time and totally drop worthy. It's a pity that the poster is so deceivingly pretty. -
125. The Good Bad Mother
Korean Drama - 2023, 14 episodes
I wasn't expecting much because it had a slow start and seemed like it was going to be one of those typical village dramas, but it surprisingly put me on an emotional roller coaster. It has its silly moments. I wouldn't call it mind blowing amazing, but I was fully invested. Also, I think I found my favorite child actors for this year. The little ones in this drama were super talented.

126. Bloodhounds
Korean Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
I'm glad my friend told me to ignore the thirst posts and give it a shot. The action was very entertaining and I haven't seen a lineup this good since Bad Guys. The show wasn't quite the same after "the storm", but it was a solid watch. Also, you've got to love the Marine duo. They were simple minded babos with a lot of heart.

127. Mr. Insomnia Waiting for Love
Chinese Drama - 2023, 24 episodes
It had a fun plot idea: two people with severe insomnia form an agreement to sleep together when they discover they can both fall asleep whenever they touch each other. The drama is low budget, but I thought it was a decent time pass watch. SFL can be annoying, but she gets better later on. The only thing I found unnecessary and dumb was that there is a twist that happens to their sleeping patterns that complicates things. Also, the FL wears a giant bow in her hair all the time like she is a child. xD Other than that, it's an okay watch if you're bored. Like everyone is saying, it is average. I would've loved to see more character growth after they were cured. I'm sure their lives improved dramatically besides their love life.

128. Hi Producer
Chinese Drama - 2023, 35 episodes
This was a relaxing and refreshing watch. I would call it a hidden gem. It's an experimental drama in the form of part drama and part documentary. Due to the documentary factor, it might not be for everyone. However, I would highly recommend it to art history nerds, documentary fans, and people who appreciate art (both tangible and non tangible forms). Sorry, romance fans. This is not a romance. However, there are a few people in love and they hint at a few ships. The female lead is adorably evil. It makes for some great entertainment and comedy. I loved the rivalry between FL and the competition. The guest cameos were stellar. Last but not least, the art is beautiful.

129. My Perfect Stranger
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
This one pleasantly surprised me. It had me hooked for a Time Travel mystery/suspense/thriller. Yes, some stuff is predictable, but I still enjoyed seeing all of it play out. I usually don't like time travel dramas, but this one wasn't too overwhelming and didn't have too many plot holes. I wish the cops weren't incompetent though, but those were the days when science and protocols weren't that good.

130. Ye Cheng Fu
Chinese Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
I wasn't going to watch this series cuz it seemed really low budget (and it is). But while I was fixing the subs for it, the ML stole my heart so I decided to watch it properly. It's set in a world with female rulers (like a matriarchal society). There are plenty of fun moments. Like I said, ML is a heart stealer and can be smooth as hell. FL is pretty smart. FL's best friend is adorable (though the actress's acting can be a bit weak at times). The drama's biggest flaw is its editing. Most of the episodes start off with a random flashback, but they don't tell you when it happens so you have to figure it out. It makes the story a bit confusing to follow. It ends at a good point, but yes, there will be a 2nd season. Considering this is a low budget drama, I'm being a bit more generous with my rating. (Oh, and I liked the instrumental bgm song).

131. To Ship Someone
Chinese Drama - 2023, 24 episodes
This drama was like a cross between one of the low budget mini cdramas and a regular chinese romcom series. It was an okay drama if you're looking for something mindless to watch. I enjoyed it until the villain and that whole story arc started to take more precedence. The villain was incredibly lame and it really dragged the story and ruined the drama for me toward the end. It could have benefited from reduced episodes to cut out all that nonsense they added in there. The last episode was somewhat enjoyable though.
-
132. Royal Rumours
Chinese Drama - 2023, 24 episodes
Yeah...I had to torture myself to finish this one. There's nothing really special about it other than that ML is a cat dad who likes to collect a bunch of cool cat themed things. Other than that, it wasn't really memorable. I recall there being a few funny moments, but I've already forgotten them (and I started this drama 3 days ago). I appreciated that FL is strong, both physically and mentally. However, she acts weak for 90% of the drama to fool her enemies, so we only get to see like 2 badass scenes from her. She's got cool parents though.

133. Please Be My Family
Chinese Drama - 2023, 30 episodes
A very addicting binge watch with a marriage of convenience plot and two adorable kids. It just hit the spot for me. It also low key gave me old school Taiwanese drama vibes. I went into this thinking it was going to be artificially sweetened fluff, but I was not expecting to tear up very early on. It starts off a bit cringe, but gets better later on. I loved the sismance. The only annoying side plot was ex-girlfriend comes back, but it lasts for a few episodes. It also had some filler side relationships, but I didn't mind them too much.

134. Skip a Beat
Chinese Drama - 2023, 20 episodes
Basically, a trashy soap opera that I couldn't step away from. When I saw the low rating, I thought it was it was going to be a low production thing. Actually, that's not main reason. In the beginning, ML is a piece of shit and FL is pretty much in an emotionally abusive relationship with him. It's really hard to watch. Then there's a twist and ML tries to become a better person. At the end of the day, it's your standard melodrama with toxic people (just swap one character with another). It's a great hate watch if you're looking for something to fume over.

135. Past Lives
Korean Movie - 2023
Oh, I was not expecting to find this on here. Saw it yesterday. It gave me warm and fuzzy feelings and then heartbreak. It's basically like having second lead syndrome the whole time and hating myself for it cuz... *spoiler* FL's husband is actually a really great guy. I hated myself for wanting to root for ML, who's stuck in this second lead situation. These two really felt like OTP when it came to kdrama standards. They had the childhood connection and everything.

It had some really cool shots in the the ring and of the ring, but I dont think sumo is for me. It's a strange, yet fascinating world. At the end of the day, it did get me mildy interested in the sport. I enjoyed the character growth and the cinematography. 140. My Cat-astrophic Lover
Chinese Drama - 2022, 25 episodes
Low budget mini drama. The story had a lot of potential, but editing is a bit rough and acting can be weak. There's plenty of cat footage and I appreciate that they used the limited footage of the cat they had instead of stressing the cat too much, hence the editing is a bit choppy. I enjoyed it for the cat. Adding this to my "guys with cats" collection.

141. Here We Meet Again
Chinese Drama - 2023, 32 episodes
It was all right. I enjoyed the comedy and the headstrong FL. I think people just have to keep in mind that it's a slow burn romance. You might have to fast forward a bit. Vin is still very swoonworthy in this. There are quite a bit of misundertandings, but they have to do with the past, so it's less annoying. I saw a lot of similarities to You Are My Glory, but I think I liked this couple better for their personalities...but that's just me. There were a lot of comments bashing FL/actress and saying they didn’t have chemistry. On screen romance was mostly PG.

It seemed like a mediocre melodrama in the beginning. It was like it was trying to be the next Taiwanese Sky Castle or Penthouse. Despite the mediocre start, the quality is pretty good. This was pretty good for a low budget toxic romance. It's a great hate watch. ML is a certified ass. But don't worry, he isn't an asshole for the whole drama, just the first 5 episodes and somewhere around the middle. Some things he did might make this lead irredeemable, but honestly I'm so deprived of angsty revenge dramas, I'll accept this toxic lead. The angst was definitely there. There are plenty of kiss scenes and I'm sure you've seen plenty of screenshots of ML's abs. :P It's basically a guilty pleasure watch that is easily bingeable due to its short length.

148. Delightfully Deceitful
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
FL is a certified baddie and genius. When I started, I thought it was going to be one of those dramas about a group of talented people helping others get revenge. I did not think I was entering a complicated game of chess. The first half was great with all of this thrill and excitement. It slowed down in the second half and got a bit draggy toward the end. Maybe it's a 7...idk, there was a lot going on.

149. The Science of Falling in Love
Chinese Drama - 2023, 24 episodes
It's not bad, but this was a pretty generic college drama that had a stereotypical nerdy and cold male lead. The main couple can be cute at times and it had its funny moments. I wouldn't necessarily recommend unless you like Chinese college dramas and can watch this plot over and over again.

150. See You in My 19th Life
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
How do you say goodbye to something that you loved?
Supernatural dramas are my crack and this one delivered. I usually hate reincarnation storylines, but this one deviated from the typical plot. I absolutely loved the FL in all her forms. It had great cinematography, an "original" story, and was just great all around. Shin Hye Sun's acting is one of the best performances I've seen this year. I nearly watched all of this in one sitting. There were a couple of unanswered questions, but it wasn't really that important to the story. I have not read the webcomic so I can't compare. I watched this with a fresh pair of eyes.Tragic Past ✔

151. Loneliness Society
Thai Drama - 2023, 14 episodes
I'm surprised I liked this even though it was nothing special. It's a simple and sweet story about two lonely souls who fall in love...in the midst of a crazy amnesia lakorn story. One of the the brothers pissed me off. The mom did too for her unreasonable discrimination. Anyways, I'm surprised I actually really liked the SFL. They can be annoying (and even downright villainous in lakorns). This one didn't seem that bad.

152. The Player
Thai Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
Not my cup of tea, but it was an interesting and wild ride. The mystery and a couple of surprises were enough to keep me interested until the end. There really aren't any "good" characters, except for like 2 people. Almost everyone is a grey character, if they aren't straight up bad. Each character is playing their own game. The question is who is playing the longer game and who is the better player? Instead of seeing character growth, I saw many people deteriorate slowly. However, all characters were not a lost cause. Some managed to redeem themselves in the end. Also, I'm happy to see bi characters represented in a positive manner (they're usually evil deceivers in lakorns). By the end of the drama, I didn't care for any of the ships.

153. Friend to Enemy
Thai Drama - 2022, 24 episodes
I was able to predict the entire story from ep. 1. Nothing new or special. Episodes 1-13 were all backstory and could've been done in 4 episodes. It gets more interesting from episode 14 onward. The last 2 episodes were incredibly draggy. On another note, I really like one of the songs they featured in this lakorn.

154. Behind the Revenge
Thai Drama - 2023, 24 episodes
Ok, so I went in with really low expectations, but I actually kind of liked it. It's an ugly revenge story, but the story was actually decent for a slap/kiss lakorn, if that makes sense. What I liked is that you get to see things more from the "evil mistress sister's" perspective. ML thinks he's all calculative trying to get revenge, but the joke is on him. A lot of people are complaining about this drama in the comments. Maybe they had high expectations? I forget some people solely watch lakorns for the romance. :/ I was just looking for a good hate watch, hence I picked up this drama. This ending is pretty standard, if not better, than the usual dramas in this genre (slap/kiss).

I was mentally kicking myself in the head because I realized I started a drama where the ML helps others cheat for a living. I'm glad I stuck around to see the story change. I'm going to be completely biased on this one. What can I say? It turns out that I am not immune to pure fluff with perfect MLs. This was sweetened with real sugar, none of that artificially sweetened crap. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. The only thing that felt odd was Zhao Lu Si playing the 17 year old version of the character. The 17 year old version seemed very childish...even the child actor seemed more mature than that. 17 year old version seemed like an odd contrast between the 14 year old version and the 19 year old version. Anyways, I also felt like they overplayed the age gap thing. It really was not that big of a deal. I absolutely fell in love with the brother. I'm happy to hear that he will be getting a spinoff (though not with the same actor T-T). On the other hand, I'm confident that this drama will skyrocket Victor Ma to fame and I will be seeing him more on screen. Fighting!

159. Time to Fall in Love
Chinese Drama - 2022, 24 episodes
Evil twin + twin swap + contract relationship. Nothing special about this except for the steamy kisses. It's makjang trying to disguise itself as romance. If you're going to watch it, don't watch the youtube version. It's been condensed and they overlaid some mismatched piano music on top of the audio.

160. Revenant
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
I wouldn't call this super scary, but it was creepy and eerie enough to give me chills and had me holding my breath at times. It has been a very long time since a kdrama has done that for me. For this, I want to give it an 8. The story behind the evil spirit was interesting, even the other spirits as well. I liked that they only focused on a few spirits instead of making this episodic. Kim Tae Ri's acting was surprisingly very good. I don't think this was supposed to be a romance, but I could ship FL with either guy. xD
As for things I didn't like, the mom was super annoying and the older detective also got on my nerves. It was very frustrating watching those two characters. Also, unrelated to the drama itself, but the captions/subtitles sucked so it made it very difficult for me to get into this drama. -
161. Ousama ni Sasagu Kusuriyubi

My favorite trope (contract marriage) done well. I loved this couple and I loved the family. Technically nothing new, but still very enjoyable. Had me hooked from the beginning. Also, Negi! ♥

162. King the Land
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
It had a bit too many cliche tripping/falling scenes for my liking. In a way it reminded me of a 2000s romcom, but on the lighter side. It had some funny moments, but nothing that really tickled my heart. FL's grandma is probably the best. Lee Jun Ho oppa is very handsome and swoonworthy, but he could not save this for me. This drama had some fun play on words, but the Netflix subs didn't do a good job of translating these fun elements. Overall, nothing new, but enjoyable if you're looking for something to kill time. You get what you expect.

163. D.P. Season 2
Korean Drama - 2023, 6 episodes
Idk, I watched two different recaps of s1 and I could still barely remember a thing. It took me about 2 episodes to untangle memories of this drama and Military Prosecutor Doberman from my head. I didn't like the flow of this season as much. Maybe I just needed to watch s1 and s2 back to back. Anyways, this was depressing as usual, but I'm glad there was some "happiness" to the ending. I'm just waiting for ML to finally get discharged.

164. Numbers
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
An intellectually stimulating business drama that requires a lot of brain power. I had to pause and rewind a lot to understand a lot of the jargon. That being said, I think I mainly liked it cuz I'm a nerd that likes to follow the numbers. This was right up my alley. It is a proper business drama done right. The drama is not without faults though. A lot of things were exaggerated and some of it was probably unrealistic. However, I think it was meant to show that there is a lot of conflict of interest and grey area in this world.
L oppa still cannot act, but it's okay...I think some of the action choreography might've made up for it. xD The FL is surprisingly actually really smart at times, even though she doesn't let it show. Sometimes they just make her appear to be naive or clueless. The villain is very intimidating so great job on the actor for his performance. I think the main thing that annoyed me was the ending. It was a complete and somewhat satisfactory ending, but they clearly left some room open for a second season if you want to see the villain fall further from grace. (You know me, I like a proper revenge.) There's definitely room for improvement. Bottom line, if you like business dramas and are looking for something different, it might be worth it to check it out.Corruption ✔

165. Brush Up Life
Japanese Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Wow, I went from disliking this drama from the beginning (and wanting to drop) to loving the ending. The first half was a snooze fest for me with all the chitchatting and gossiping, but the series got better and better with each life. The last two episodes were the best. I still hated all the chatting though.

166. Kono Koi Atatamemasu ka
Japanese Drama - 2020, 10 episodes
I mainly watched it for the desserts and enjoyed it for the desserts. More desserts, less romance please. There was a missed opportunity for FL to confront her past. It would've given a proper conclusion to show how much she's grown. Other than that, it's a decent watch to kill time.

167. When I Fly Towards You
Chinese Drama - 2023, 24 episodes
At first this seemed like a generic school drama. I found the first half to be kind of boring, but I decided to trust mdl friends and continue watching. The second half was everything! By the second half, I was already attached to this group of friends. What a bunch of dorks. I actually liked the secondary couple more than the first, but everyone was great (especially poor Fang, I was rooting for him to find a partner). I think this drama did a great job as a youth drama because it made me want to go back to my teenage years (minus all the school pressure stuff). FL is adorable. She reminded me of a doll. Her cheesy smile was the best. Some parts that involved her chasing ML had me cringing so hard...I had to fast forward lol.
The writing was solid, but there were a couple of missed opportunities such as ML needing to confront his mom. Also, I was kind of weirded out by how FL would occasionally still dress like a little school girl in college. If you don't like "aegyo", just beware of FL a bit, but it's not too bad. Other than that, it was a great, stress free watch. If there were any misunderstandings, they were short and adorable.Misunderstanding ✔

169. Show Me the Money Season 10
Korean TV Show - 2021, 10 episodes
I started this in 2021, was waiting on subs, and then spoiled the ending for myself. I told myself I would wait until I forgot the ending, but then I spoiled the ending for myself AGAIN last month, so I thought I might as well finish it. Since there was a large gap since that period, I forgot who I was rooting for and vaguely remember some stuff about the contestants. I'm just leaving my rating as is as of episode 9. I will say that the 1st and 2nd place winners had the best performances in the finale. Congrats to both.

170. Mask Girl
Korean Drama - 2023, 7 episodes
Not for everyone. You can probably tell by the poster, but it's dark, even if the first episode doesn't start out that way. I wouldn't call it a dark comedy, but more of a dark makjang. Imo, I personally wasn't satisfied with the ending, but it might be a matter of taste.
-
171. Trick or Love
Taiwanese Drama - 2023, 40 episodes
Probably a 7. It's basically a family drama makjang and that's basically what I was in the mood for. Rating based on family drama soap opera standards. I'm a sucker for gender benders. Also, who doesn't love Marcus Chang? Anyways, the second half is very slow and the last 10 episodes were especially draggy. 40 episodes was a lot. However, I really loved the comedy, bromance, and family dynamic of this drama. I also really loved the OST, especially the ending theme. If you like family makjangs, there's a good chance you'll like it. Just know that it slows down significantly after 25 eps.

174. The Glory Part 2

Poetic revenge. Solid 8 overall. I started this drama cuz of Song Hye Kyo and she rocked this role, but can we talk about Im Ji Yeon? She was phenomenally wicked. She did a great job of making my blood boil and I remember being super creeped out at one point. XD Some of these characters were unrealistically too evil, but I enjoyed the revenge very much.

177. You Are My Exclusive Surprise
Chinese Drama - 2023, 14 episodes
Quick watch. Surprisingly pretty good for low budget mini drama standards (and a bit steamy too). ML is a bit of a manhandler though...but this type of manhandling is to be expected with this genre. It is one of those dominant ML type of dramas, but ML is pretty sweet.

178. Ex-Wife Stop

Eh, not as good as s1 and more trashy makjang tropes.

180. Miss Chun Is a Litigator
Chinese Drama - 2023, 20 episodes
I think people mainly found it refreshing cuz they're not used to seeing a c-historical about litigation. The cases were kind of basic. Too much talking with no real build up mystery/suspense. Though there were a few twists. I mainly stuck around for the ML who barely got any screen time. :P The ending is disappointing cuz it kind of ends as a cliffhanger (though not abrupt as in other dramas). Even if they don't make a season 2, you know what it will be about.

181. Tsuiraku JK to Haijin Kyoshi
Japanese Drama - 2023, 9 episodes
I usually stay faaaar away from student/teacher relationship storylines, but this was unexpectedly hilarious. It's a dark comedy that makes fun of itself and the genre. It's crazy, weird, and ridiculous. The ML's casting was spot on. I very much enjoyed this romance. The plot is a 7.5 for me, but boosting to an 8 for the comedy that hit me in the most unexpected moments. It's been awhile since I laughed out loud this much.

182. Longing for You
Korean Drama - 2023, 14 episodes
This drama was very aesthetic with some gorgeous scenic shots. However, the plot itself was mediocre for crime/thriller, especially in the first half. They spent a lot of energy in the second half for this huge twist, which I'll admit blindsided me. However, a lot of the plot's scenarious were a little ridiculous. I would say you have to turn your brain off to watch some of it, but then that kind of defeats the whole purpose of a mystery/suspense/thriller drama. The conclusion was satisfying though.

183. Supervisor Husband
Chinese Drama - 2023, 22 episodes
I've seen this plot done way too many times before and was not impressed by this drama. It didn't really bring anything new to the table. I didn't feel the chemistry and found the script pretty boring. The FL is supposed to be a kissing instructor for dramas, but the kisses in this drama didn't leave much of an impression. :P Also, not sure why the drama is called Supervisor Husband when he is not even her husband for 90% of this drama.
-
184. Amor
Korean Movie - 2015
An indie type depressing film about a guy planning his girlfriend's funeral while she lies sick in a hospital bed. Meanwhile, this rando mysterious woman, who seems mute, comes into his life.
+ ML is a zookeeper, so there are some adorable animal shots.
+ Jung Kyung Ho showcases his great acting ability.
- Could've used some background music.
- Absolutely no explanation about the mystery woman and her backstory. It was beyond infuriating. -
185. Not Others
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
I unexpectedly loved this. Sometimes it just pays to go into a drama blind without knowing anything about it. First off, I loved the mother and daughter duo. They were hilarious. I was pleasantly suprised to see Park Sung Hoon playing a good guy (and a cop too, at that!). And then when they finally revealed who the dad was, I nearly screamed cuz it was one of my favorite actors. Some of the mystery/thriller stuff was unnecessary, but FL is a cop (and her mom is a badass) so they've got to add that in. Overall, it was very entertaining comedy (and part thriller) and also very heartwarming. Some families choose each other. I didn't expect this to also be a heartwarming tale.
P.s. child version of FL was sooooo cute.Parent Child ✔

Ah, okay, I see now. Some of you guys had me prepared for the worst. It wasn't bad. I actually enjoyed it and it was worth the watch. I obviously wasn't expecting it to be on a Some Day or One Day level, but it's still a pretty good drama. For Chinese dramas in particular, I'm a sucker for good production and acting. This is one of those nondubbed dramas with a stellar cast. The childhood arc was the best. It was also heartwarming too. I'm not saying it was the best time travel drama I've seen, but it was underrated in terms of popularity.

187. My Everlasting Bride
Chinese Drama - 2023, 24 episodes
The latest kinky, guilty pleasure romance drama to grace cdramaland that's set in Republican Era. It gets even better cuz the mains have a healthy relationship. I thought the drama was pretty solid for its genre and it has pretty good production for a minidrama. Giving it a +0.5 boost for some good transitions.

188. A Time Called You
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
I can't say it was bad, but it obviously didn't hold a candle to the original. Plotwise, the story is mostly the same. The original was probably better on a technical scale. The first two episodes were rough, but it gets better after that. I had trouble differentiating between the timelines. I think this was due to direction or editing. Usually for scenes of the past, they will use some sort of filter or crop the frame so that the audience can differentiate between timelines. There was none of that here.
Also, found some mistakes like using round earbud headphones in the 90s (they didn't become popular until the 2000s after the ipod came out in 2001). In this version, the music felt kind of generic. In the original, there was a big music theme because FL worked at a record store. It had a great soundtrack that evoked a lot more emotion. Anyways, those are my two cents. This is not bad if you're watching for the first time. I still believe the original is better on an artistic/cinematic scale and and had better production overall. It's unfortunate that some people are too comfortable to move beyond their comfort zone of kdramas to experience the Taiwanese original.Time Loop ✔

189. Sweet and Cold
Chinese Drama - 2023, 31 episodes
Loved the main couple. ML is adorable, sweet, and smooth as butter. FL is more cool than she is cold. Together they had great chemistry. The dessert on the poster accurately describes them well. The rest of the drama is your typical business drama plot with side couples no one cares about. You could skip over those. However, I did appreciate some of the awareness campaigns that FL's company had. Conclusion: Romance was worth the watch, skip the rest. #nondubbed

190. W Series: The Way You Shine
Taiwanese Drama - 2023, 24 episodes
A very average plot that seemed to have come straight out of daily airing korean soap, except the main two leads can REALLY kiss. :P There may be one or two non cliche things, such as a sex tape and abortion. The ending felt very unfinished. They never showed how she overcame her financial difficulties or if she even did at all.

191. Fake It Till You Make It
Chinese Drama - 2023, 14 episodes
I liked the second half better than the first. The business part of this drama mostly bored me for some reason (I usually like proper business dramas). Anyways, what's refreshing about this series is that neither lead is some super competent CEO/director. They are both midlevel employees that are trying to survive their workplace and work their way up. The romance is pretty mature and I enjoyed seeing these two flirt with each other. Also, I usually don't care for side characters, but I appreciate what they did with the sister's storyline. #nondubbed

193. Forever Love
Chinese Drama - 2023, 30 episodes
This is one of those guilty pleasure low budget minidramas. It's pretty makjang, but it serves its purpose. FL is very weak in the beginning and it can get frustrating, but you have to remember that she's new to the whole being blind thing so you have to be patient. As for the ML, it's an odd case of oppa actually CAN act. Poor Dai Gao Zheng is dangled like a piece of meat in this drama. This is the most amount of shirtless scenes I've seen him in yet. Here's hoping he'll land himself a main role in a more "serious" drama with big budget production. Until then, I'm sure fans will continue to enjoy seeing him and his abs as eye candy in these minidramas.

The quality is still as great as s1. It's just that this season some of the cases kind of bored me. However, the cases related the main bad guys were interesting. There were also a few cases that were loosely based off true events. That may also be why I lost my interest sometimes, because I knew what was going to happen. No one likes a predictable villain, but I appreciate a smart one and this season had one...just not as smart the good guys. Overall, it's a solid drama. I loved this more than the first season. It was stress free. It didn't take itself too seriously. It was meant to be fun. They infused it with a lot more comedy and action. It was almost like they were apologizing for breaking our hearts in season 1. This season, I loved the inclusion of Japanese mythical creatures as well as the ones from Korean folklore. Kim So Yeon absolutely slayed in this. The music was still as awesome as before. Although I hate multiple seasons, I wouldn't mind seeing more. It seems like they know what the fans want.

200. Song of the Bandits
Korean Drama - 2023, 9 episodes
A high production drama. It's scenic and has great action (but a bit bloody). I usually don't like Westerns, but this one managed to hold my attention. It slowed down a bit toward the end and kind of got draggy (back to back fighting kind of got annoyingly repetitive). The music was lit, but English lyrics seemed like an odd fit for such a patriotic drama. Lee Ho Jung played a badass. Lee Hyun Wook exceled at playing the asshole (as usual), but I kept getting distracted by his pretty eyes. ^^ Hoping he gets a redemption arc, but I doubt it. I also really loved Cha Chung Hwa in this. I think this is my favorite role of hers so far. Overall, I enjoyed it, but I don't have the energy to watch a season 2 if there is one. I'm tired of these shows getting second seasons. Just end it.
Tip: Subs were kind of fast, so I had to switch from English [CC] to English and that helped a little.Historical ✔
