Nice concept, poor execution.

So freaky I love it.

Short movie I could only find in an obscure site with low quality and Italian subs, and had to use the camera function in google translate during my whole watch—as well as muster up my French and Spanish knowledge and the little bit of korean I picked up throughout the years of watching kdramas—why yes  I love it!
Seriously though this was super fun to watch, what's there not to love? Not so subtle lesbian subtext paralleled with a vampire coming out, lesbian found footage comedy, Shin Ha Kyun?? Absolutely loved this.

Strong core message, beautiful acting, chilly and bold story, though I felt like it lost me somewhere. Still was moved by the ending. Was going to use this in my euthanasia essay for my bioethics class, unfortunately I couldn't find it online back then and only remembered it now.

Had this collecting dust in my plan to watch until I went to clean up my list a little and saw YJG, what a surprise. The movie was funny and heartwarming and sad. Younger YJG holding his own alongside a veteran actor?? Damn!

There are not enough words in the dictionary to express my frustration, because the premise was genuinely great, and YJG did amazing playing the king and the clown. If this kind of idea was taken to its full potential this would have been a truly unforgettable drama. I just can’t believe they not only killed him off but also did so early. Why? Just to turn this into your typical mediocre at best historical kdrama?
You introduce such a compelling character and just use him as a plot device to drive the story of a poorly crafted royal romance and childish court politics.

Kinda lost me when he went to prison for him, cute side couple but they really kept dragging the push and pull till the end. Still giving this a high rating cause it was daring and the acting was more than decent.

I just love the characterization. A mute main character who writes poetry, how very endearing.

Loved this! I just like the setting of a DVD shop. The story was good, focusing more on the characters rather than taking a thriller route, a choice I respect.

Some ideas, that if fleshed out could have made for a decent movie. But as it stands, this film is only saved by the acting.

Beautiful scenery, fighting scenes that don't try to do too much and therefore make for a nice watch. Loved the interactions between the characters, and the development of Kwang Hae from a meek prince to a king willing to take risks. The historical touch was also interesting. 

Good enough for what it's trying to do, worth a watch.

basically the same as the first movie, just different battle and a prequel to the first.

could have done without the whole alcoholic dad shtick, it just felt like a lazy addition for longer runtime and some unnecessary drama that doesn’t even get addressed.

This got some laughs out of me. But the shift in tonality really doesn't fit, this is a tragic example of a cerebus rollercoaster (pun not intended), the tones are all over the place, and whether it was intended or not, they thoroughly failed at combining them. I don't think a work needs to explicitly (nor always implicitly) condone things, but if this was trying to sell me on the protagonist's character development, then it did a really poor job at it. Mainly for the movie's treatment of its female characters. The ending is proof that trying to be original doesn't always work out.
