Fingernail

Halfway through this episode and...is it me, or is Dr. Cha’s fingernail getting blacker and blacker? On another topic - in most cases horses are put down (euthanized) when they break a leg, this is because it’s a threat to the horse life anyway. They are put out of their misery. So why is it so completely unacceptable to put someone out of their misery when they are being tortured and have absolutely no hope of recovery? Because we are human beings isn’t the suffering even worse? My mom died of cancer and for me, my biggest comfort is that she was no longer in unbearable pain. No drugs can help the pain they feel and in many cases their bodies slowly die and atrophy while they’re still conscious. That’s torture, feeling death slowly overcoming you. I’m not saying I’d be okay with euthanasia in most cases but there are some where I believe it’s the more humane and selfless thing to do.

Prosecutor

I have a HUGE problem with that prosecutor’s use of the law to impose his own beliefs upon others. It is his JOB to represent the victims and their families. If the law allows for the death penalty and the family of a victim is demanding it, who is he to choose to not only ignore their wishes but go so far as make a statement attacking their beliefs in the death penalty. I too believe that the death penalty is wrong because it’s just legal murder. HOWEVER, I fully understand that is my OPINION and can respect that others - particularly victims of unimaginable crimes - feel just as strongly in their support of it. I haven’t been in their shoes and can respect that. BUT. His JOB requires him to be impartial. The law is not and should NEVER be a tool used to force personal opinions on the public. His behavior is that of a tyrant. I find it very disgusting.

Her Parents

Her parents are the reason she internalizes everything and isolates herself. Every time she’s tried to bring anything up with them they have other, more important things to do. She keeps trying to open up to them and they keep failing her so she can’t bring herself to try opening up to anyone else.

Why?

I don’t understand why he continues to not clarify his relationship with the actress to her. It’s very frustrating to watch.

Crazy Korean Parents

You’ve got to give these Korean kids credit. Those disgusting rich kids’ parents think absolutely anything is acceptable if done in the name of “protecting” or doing “the best thing” for their kids. To hell with everyone else’s kids. Like I’ve said before, I’m not at all surprised about Korea’s very high suicide rate and the fact that the majority are in their teens or twenties. What’s amazing to me is the level of unwavering respect they give their, even under the highest of pressures or worst circumstances. Where they white kids in America most of those parents would be dead. Forget suicide. Menendez Brothers anyone? LolMany of theseKorean kids are able to take care of themselves early. Sometimes even the rich ones who live on their own because their parents live abroad. I’m surprised emancipation isn’t a common occurrence. Respect for elders is so deeply ingrained that isn’t even considered an option. While that can be stupendously commendable, it can also be completely baffling to outsiders who watch these kids go through so much because of their ignorant as shit parents. The parents pass their bad habits down to these kids and the cycle just continues.

Rich Koreans and a Corrupt Society.

Now, I don’t live there nor have I ever visited but, based on the crazy amount of kdramas I’ve watched in the past few years I can’t help but believe that Korea’s education system and Korean upper-class are severely corrupt and completely shameless about it. I sincerely hope that I’m wrong. Like seriously. And I’ve spent all this time trying to convince myself it’s just tv, but I can’t seem to pretend anymore. Those with money and power seem to be truly despicable, with disgusting morals. And, wow, while we all know money is a must-have and no matter how much we wish it weren’t the case, Korean society is continuously portrayed as almost being doggone divine. Greed is rampant and fairness and humanity nonexistent. My BTS babies are from Korea 💜 so I know a large part of the population aren’t like this but it sure does make me worry about them more. It’s such a touch society to survive. It’s obvious why so many are suicidal and that’s so damn sad. But when the ugliness and corruption are dominant amongst those in power and those hoping to gain power, how in hell does the situation get fixed?

Ugh!!!

I usually marathon dramas but this one is taking me weeks to finish all because of my severe dislike for the FL’s character. She’s always so immoral and unethical in her behavior and actions. She caused that fight between the 2 ML’s but rather than own up to it and clear things up with them both, she chooses to blame the ML for having to stop/hurt her friend. The ML was defending himself. She did her job. Yes he’s happy she stepped up to protect him but why the hell shouldn’t he be? That all happened because of her own words and actions. I DO NOT like this character at all. I’m going to try to watch a bit more to see if things get better but I honestly think I’ll be dropping this.

Thank Goodness!

I waited a few episodes before posting because I was worried that it would be short-lived. I still am, but I’m happy to say I haven’t fast-forwarded much since the main couple got together at the end of episode 8. Things were still a bit shaky in episodes 9 and 10 but the series seems to have (hopefully, fingers crossed) found its rhythm. Even ML’s best friend is bearable to watch! LOL! I hope I haven’t spoken too soon...

A Little Better

I swear the ML is carrying this entire drama. Without him none of its worth watching. His scenes with the FL are like watching a completely different show. The energy is entirely different; much better. But then you’re back to junk when ML isn’t involved. And when his friend is the involved even he (ML) isn’t enough to make me watch.

Absolute Idiot

How could someone so dumb even consider starting their own company. She knows nothing about business and is completely impulsive. Even with fast-forwarding through most of these episodes I’m still struggling to continue. The ML is the only character I like and the only reason I’m continuing to watch. The only other characters I care for are ML’s assistant and FL’s male assistant. This is one of the worst dramas I’ve seen, which is sad because those 3 actors, particularly the main lead, are doing an awesome job with what they have to work with. I’m going to force myself to watch until the main couple officially gets together, then I’ll most likely drop this, which is tough because I rarely drop dramas. I’m typically able to least finish the ones I don’t particularly enjoy but this is excruciating.

Best Friend is such a Turn-off

The writers definitely dragged this “who is Luo Tian Yi” issue out way too long, and ML’s best friend is so annoying it becoming an unbearable turnoff. I want to know what happens but there’s just so much I don’t want to waste my time with too. Ugh! Okay, I’ll keep going a bit further and see how things go.Update: Okay, I’m beginning to think it’s the writers that aren’t...very experienced. It sucks. The story premise is there but they had no clue how to develop it and tried to throw in various approaches, haphazardly. Then, the director didn’t do a very good job of pulling it all together and making it any better. I can already see that I’m going to be fast-forwarding through most of the rest of this series, unless things somehow get significantly better.

Complete Betrayal

The thing that’s now making this extremely difficult to continue watching is deepest disgust I have for the FL for her completely disloyal, immoral, unethical and ILLEGAL behavior. Not to mention that she’s doing this to someone who’s emotions she can literally feel herself. And I already can tell she’s going to continue doing it too. Utterly despicable. It took me a few episodes to really get into this but things had started moving along well...until this abhorrent behavior was added to the mix. I sincerely don’t know if I can continue watching this.

I have a question...

Instead of going through all that running around and headache, why wouldn’t Jia Wei simply ask Jinbei for help getting in touch with Su Ying? She’s the one who recommended her for the assistant position and even introduced her as her sister. I mean, really??

Kwan Woo

This is my 2nd time watching this drama series and I STILL don’t get why so many people wanted Hye Sung to be with Kwan Woo. Like, seriously. Unless the woman is a complete dweeb too, I can’t see how he’d be appealing other than he’s sweet and innocent, with a good heart. He’s also smart. But he’s such a complete loser! Seriously!!! I think it’s dumb to have issues with the age difference in this day and age (but agree to at least waiting until Soo Ha graduates high school before they even consider dating), especially when the gap isn’t THAT large and considering their history and his maturity (as well as her very annoying immaturity). But even if they couldn’t get past the age issue and didn’t end up together, I STILL couldn’t stand the thought of her ending up with Kwan Woo in the long run instead. That feeling just grows with each dang episode. They’d have had to introduce a 3rd guy or something for me to have remained satisfied. With that said, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVED her mom, and cried buckets again rewatching this episode. She was so dang awesome. Park Soo Ha is freaking amazing!!! I love him so much (not sure if I’m referring to the character or the actor more here LOL). This remains one of my all-time favorite dramas.

Annoyingly Slow.

This series is really getting on my nerves. It’s so slow. No progress is being made in any storyline and I’m already almost at the end of episode 13. Clearly they should have condensed this down to one season (same episode length) for it to be interesting. Plus there are so many errors in the flow of the writing/story. For example, why ask what it’s like to kiss a human when you’ve done it yourself already? And at least they made it clear that the girl was dense so you can somewhat tolerate her ignorance, but how is an author that gullible and clueless as well? Not being personally familiar with human interaction is one thing but he clearly has read a lot of books and also would have to know and understand enough to develop his characters and write his stories. This is annoying on so many levels. I want to know what happens but, honestly, if I could find a decent summary somewhere I’d just read that instead.
