Once the female lead let go of trying to prove herself as a detective she became much more reasonable and her natural kindness and good heart finally was able to easily shine through. Hopefully she won’t become an irresponsible idiot cop again, as I’m finally able to make properly start connecting with her character. I like the writers’ approach for handling how they finally become able to break through one another’s walls and make a strong connection. A few episodes ago I couldn’t dream of how the two leads could ever become a couple but I’m finally able to see it now and it wasn’t just some dumb sudden love crap. No they made the transition as complicated as it would be in reality. Good job!
It finally felt like the writers really found their footing by this episode. THEN, dumb chick strikes again. Every. Single. Time, she jumps to conclusions without doing any actual fact-checking, and proceeds to screw up the investigation once again. I haven’t seen her do one thing correctly. She also doesn’t seem to learn from her mistakes. How many times while she decide who the culprit is based solely on how she feels about the person? These aren’t gut feelings like normal, experienced investigators get AS THEY GATHER INFORMATION AND CHECK FACTS. No. What she’s doing is making judgments based on her impressions of each person. To stop and arrest someone in the middle of surgery (for a dying patient!) without any real evidence of a crime is insane. She didn’t even ask him what the injection was for. He could have been diabetic for all she knew! I’m sorry but the writers are doing a crap job with developing her character as the female lead protagonist. Male lead however is absolutely fabulous. His acting too is very impressive, really bringing the character to life.
There’s clearly a reason why this chick is a traffic cop and not a violent crimes detective. SmhDefinitely a much better episode. The writers seem to be finding their rhythm and with fewer glaring logistical issues.
The show clearly stresses the female lead’s knowledge of the law (more than once), yet failed to follow through on the fact that a POLICE OFFICER witnessed an INTENTIONAL HIT AND RUN (which therefore constitutes attempted murder), during which her vehicle was damaged (i.e. leaving the scene of ANOTHER accident, saying there wasn’t enough to move forward with an investigation?? Furthermore, this chick who’s such a stickler for following the police handbook to a T, not only proceeds to contaminate the evidence by picking up the keychain at the scene, but also after noting there wasn’t any CCTV in the area, didn’t attempt to take photos of the scene?? Seriously?! Let’s ignore the fact that she didn’t try to take a photo of the vehicle fleeing the scene (let’s go with she froze up), but even for a fender bender the parties take photos, never mind the POLICE who take more if they’re called to the scene of an accident. Let’s not focus on the man dying on the ground (yeah let’s be narcissistic for a minute) and point out AGAIN the significant damage to her vehicle... I mean, pictures? Anyone? And why in hell did she keep referring to it as a murder not attempted murder? I hope that was simply poor translation. AND! As a police officer, why didn’t she make sure the scene was secure and CSI or at least another officer was on site before leaving? Let’s not even begin to dig in to the medical side of things (like a joint surgery of that kind and under those conditions is just something you decide to do and simply dive right on into, for starters). I have sooo many issues with the writing in this episode! If the show wasn’t presenting itself as one where the doctors and police were clearly supposed to be on the upper end of the spectrum for being well- versed in their respective fields, I’d be more inclined to let this stuff go. But that’s not the case. The writers should have done their homework.I get the goal of the writers and even like where they’re attempting to with this but I’m extremely disappointed with the execution and all its sloppiness.OMG! I just watched more. How dumb is this chick? Why in hell didn’t she stop to think that a deaf kid wouldn’t have made that phone call to the morgue?! Killing me! And why in hell would the medical examiner not have been given that information.
Okay. First, let me just say that within the first 3 minutes I fell in love with the OST. Based on that song alone I know I can expect awesome music from this drama.Second, this show is crazy! Crazy. Very intriguing. Definitely keeping me on my toes. I have no clue what the crazy dynamic is with his parents, especially if his father did commit suicide like the article comments mentioned.
Now things finally seem to be moving along nicely. The pace right now is really good. However, from the reviews I know Lee Shin and Gyu Won get together pretty early on and that bothers me. How could he suddenly completely be over the professor? If they do get together soon Gyu Won should feel like she’s his rebound. Especially since he’s shown zero interest in her as a woman thus far.
That one guy’s singing was absolutely beautiful, and he was really singing too! Joon Hee’s character annoys me. Everyone keeps saying how cute and adorable he is but his dumbness and cluelessness aggravates the heck out of me. How can a university student be that dumb? If they’d toned it down a bit I could see him being cute and sweet but this was just too over the top for me.
Okay, I’ve got to give credit when credit is due and for these visual effects and the cinematography it’s definitely due. Great acting as well. Wow! Well done. But what kid runs off and leaves his mom when he’s scared though? And when that hospital was clearly unstable and about to fall why didn’t those two old men at least attempt to turn back around?? Instinct alone should have made them try to hightail it outta there. Details Writers. Pay attention to the details please.
After watching so many k-dramas (and as also prevalent in this episode) one dominating and irrefutable fact remains - Koreans need to learn the art of telling others to go f@ck themselves. Like seriously, their suicide rates would drop drastically. The same could be said of most of Asia but Koreans seem to be the leaders at allowing others to run their mouths, share their demeaning and uninvited opinions, and even taking physical provocation, silently and without repercussions. This, in my opinion is absolute madness!Koreans don't even need to learn to go all American-style (bitch-slap the person while telling them off). No, not all all. Since they're always so focused on class, breeding and propriety, taking a tip or two from the British should suffice nicely. Insult them right back all calm and fancy-like and the point will be made (i.e. back the f@ck off!). The way that one lady spoke to Moon Soo's mother as well as whoever that Director guy is that acted all shitty with Joo Won were perfect opportunities to practice. Those scenes totally made me want to bitch slap those a-holes.
Omg I already thought this series was hilarious but I’m halfway through this episode and I’m dying! LOL! I’m LITERALLY ROFL! Tears! I have tears! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Holy shit, Bae Sung Woo is an out of this world INSANELY TALENTED actor! WOW! He deserves an Academy (or is it Grammy?) Award for his performance in this drama. Mind blown! Also, honestly, if the situation for Korean police is really this bad they should go on strike, just for a day. Just don’t show up to work. When people call 119 for help and no one answers or shows up let’s see if they learn to appreciate them more. Too bad it would take many civilian lives lost to prove that point and, really, they’re so stubborn and ridiculous they’d probably focus on putting that blame on them anyway. Let the cops start quitting in mass though. Then maybe the corrupt higher ups, Internal Affairs and Prosecutors would start acting right, and also rewrite the dang police manual. I also wonder how often these situations really occur here in the US. How many times are officers used as scapegoats, especially with the “Black Lives Matter” movement now prevalent. I’m a black woman who hates to see any injustice and quite frankly I don’t trust the media at all, especially here where tabloids constantly publish anything without verifying facts and constantly gets away with it. Especially here where the news is also skewed, manipulated and used to steer public opinion where they want. I’ve seen cases where I’ve doubted the validity of the reported cases of police violence against blacks in the news and it infuriates me because those cases simply make things harder for the real cases of police brutality to be treated justly. I’ve also seen far too often cases where officers clearly were in the wrong and extremely unjust but got of with just a slap on the wrist. These things all happen here just like it does in Korea. The difference is that police here are protected while, from this drama, it seems Korean police are not at all whatsoever. Sang Soo finally is finally acting mature. LOL. It’s like once he feels secure about something he can relax and focus on his personal growth . He’s a little slow on the uptake at times but at least he learns and improves and he has the biggest and purest heart, without question. If anyone can break down Jeong Oh’s walls it’s him. He just barges in anyway. LOL However, I feel that if she’d left too soon, before she fully let him in, they wouldn’t have lasted. She’d put those walls right back up while she was away. So I’m happy she’s staying a while first. Everyone else is still amazing as always. This show is freakin fantastic. Oh! FYI - it looks like season 2 is set to air in 2021! Yay!
Man! These actors are seriously talented. All episodes have been great thus far but the first 20 mins of this episode especially, was outstanding. Really moving. Impactful.
Every. Single. Time! Every time Sang Soo seems to be growing the hell up he says or does something to just turn me off again. He has a huge heart and is a good person but he really is clueless and immature. My one pet peeve (clearly) with this show is his immaturity. I’ve been hoping he’d grow enough during the course of the drama to make his behavior less aggravating but it looks like I might be out of luck. Complaining about protecting a family?! Wanting to only seek out the big cases for the thrill of the reward? Ugh! I just can’t.
