The drama didn’t live up to the hype!
In an interview actress KIM JI WON said she signed the show because she was curious and wanted to know why the couple hated each other that much . Every viewer had the same question but the question was never really answered properly. The writer didn’t delve deep into the issues of the couple. Like why their love turned cold? . Yes we saw the lovey doovey memories and how they fell in love but not how they fell out of love and most importantly how it turned into hate!In the first episode HYUN WOO was miserable and wanted to end the marriage. After finding out that HAE IN is terminally ill and will die soon he was genuinely happy and wasn’t even a bit shocked. This showed how much he hated hae in and wanted this marriage to end. There must’ve been a strong reason for him to be this way considering how empathetic and kind person he is in the show. But his wife, (who he use to love) is going to die and he is happy about it!!! What caused this !! the writer didn’t unveil those details hence the plot felt incomplete.
And more emphasis was put on Hyun woo’s misery and Hae in’s side was left out from it. I couldn’t understand why she stopped putting effort in marriage and was soo cold towards him.
The story could’ve been complete in itself and didn’t need villains at all if the story focused on the main plot. It felt like a completely different drama afterwards. Hae in was terminally ill and eun seong still wont stop chasing her till the very end like a psychopath. And seeing him chase her again and again became boring and too dragging. So many thing were going on at the same time like the villain plot and hae’s in illness plot, that the main issue was swept under the rug.
Last but not the least I am tired of how no kdrama can go without lead hero being a saviour..The writer could’ve done better and not give us the same story that we have watched 100 times.
In the end I gotta admire kim ji won, she was phenomenal. Brilliant acting by her. She has proved how amazing of an actress she is. Baek hyun woo and hae in’s chemistry is also amazing. Their acting and Chemistry carried the whole show.

If you are fed up with same old corny love stories this drama is for you
The rating of the show didn’t make any sense because the story was absolutely amazing. If you enjoy romcoms but fed up with same corny romances then this show is for you. It’s heartfelt, emotional and funny. The unique bond between FL’s grandma and the orphan boy filled my heart with joy. One of my favourite scene is when Mr. Han gets heartbroken over dalmi, grandma visited him, hugged and consoled him.. that scene teared me up. Grandma was the only one who cared that he was hurting and went to him to see how he was doing.
The samsan tech boys and their friendship survived through thick and thin and it was a treat to watch them succeed . The rivalry between two sisters and their hidden care for each other made you realise that blood is thicker than water. It was all these bonds that made the show soo special. Mostly romcoms circle around only the relationship between the lead couples but startup explores soo many bonds along with the main couple.
As for the love triangle, realistically will a pen pal from 15 years ago, whom you’ve never met or seen will carry more value or someone who is in front of you? Obviously what is real will prevail, even though the relationship between Do san and Dalmi started as a lie but it became real as he was standing in front of her and admitting his feelings to her. Unlike Mr Han who disappeared and never looked back even once and still hesitated to own up to the letters. It makes sense why dalmi fell for Do san. I do feel bad for Mr. Han but he realised his feelings for Dalmi too late. Call it bad luck or his hesitation but he lost dalmi pretty early in the plot. I wish he had another love interest so we wouldn’t feel so bad for him. He was good boy indeed. Yet I don’t see anything wrong with dalmi choosing Nam do san.
It was a very interesting drama.

Never ending loop of same events
This is my take on lovely runner so you don’t have to agree with it.I couldn’t help but notice alot of similarities in plot of the movie 20th century girl and lovely runner. I will be pointing out those similarities because there are just soo many. I almost thought lovely runner was a drama adaptation of the movie with a time travel twist.
Firstly, Sunjae death in lovely runner and woon ho’s death in 20th century girl.
Secondly sol’s character had resemblance with Bora who is effortlessly cute and cheerful in the movie. Unfortunately Sol didn’t make us feel that way. She was annoying to say the least.
Thirdly , we discover Sun Jae fell for Sol first and same happened in the 20th century girl. The aesthetics, the video rental shop and the neighbourhood are similar too.
Finally , the love triangle that builds confusion between Sun Jae and Sol and it continues up till the middle of the show. This also happens in the movie. i feel the writer was either inspired by the 20th century girl or it was just too much of a coincidence.(LOL)
I absolutely love sun jae and I was rooting for him but sol ughh. I don’t know why but she annoyed me throughout the show. I don’t understand what was she trying to do as her actions were abrupt and not thought through. Poor sunaje suffered much for her.
Anyhow i might not rewatch the show as story was lacking depth.. Sol’s time travel and sunjae’s death keep repeating in a never ending loop. It was bizarre towards the end.

Breath of fresh air from the typical kdrama cliches.
I am relieved that the story was not like typical k-dramas. There was no love triangle, no memory loss and no past connection etc .It was refreshing to watch a coming of age show and 2521 exceeded my expectations. The main leads had amazing chemistry. I watched 2521 for Kim tae-ri but Nam jo hyuk as Baek ijin stole the show for me. His journey for me was more relatable and challenging. Na-hee-do’s journey was inspiring too but Baek ijin’s journey was full of ups and downs. I am not sure if anyone noticed but ijin is not your typical ML who can’t function without the FL, he is realistic, keeping his love separate from his dreams, he has his own journey. He is not a ML filled with cliches but a vulnerable ML just like a normal person.
I felt every emotion while watching the show.. I cried when Ijin was reading hee do’s diary, when he hugged her in his dream and felt the longing when ijin replayed hee do’s voice message on phone booth multiple times because it comforted him . The break up scene while they hugged each other for the last time was painfull. The friendship between Hee do, yurim, ji ung and seung wan was full of fun moments.
Although I got to admit that i liked 18 year old Na-hee do more than 21 year old hee do. But i loved both 22 year old and 25 year old ijin.
I wanted to see them meet again in the future and I thought they might run into each other again but they didn’t sadly.I wanted to see if Baek ijin was happy. If he had a family like hee do. That part was left to our imagination.
Ps I also do not care who was na hee do’s husband. His identity was not important here bcz his character was never showed in the show and it was not about him. It was about hee do’s first love.

Didn’t live up to the hype
I was really disappointed bcz it didn’t lived up to the hype that was created. the 1st half of the show was really boring and slow and It was hard to understand what is actually the theme of the show What’s the purpose ? Besides the concept of parallel universe nothing else was fascinating as it should have been. .There were soo many supporting characters that made the show more confusing. Time travel event was a lot not explained properly. I didn’t liked the chemistry between the lead characters , The chemistry between Jung tae eul and kang shin jae was more interesting. Also Kang shin jae was better character than lee min ho’s character, bcz it had more story and character development. I feel like supporting characters were more strong and interesting than the leading characters. End was also really boring.so much more could have been but it was just not that interesting. Was this review helpful to you?
Forever favourite
Ever since i watched crash landing on you, no kdrama feels that good. The thing about crash landing on you is that it is full of surprises. Each new episode is more exciting than the previous one and you can’t stop watching until the end.i have watched it 3 times already during the pandemic. Also there is nothing lame in the entire story.Everything feels soo genuine and realistic whether it was showing North Korea or the differences b/w the two countries everything was well portrayed.i have never watched a show 2 times in a row but crash landing on you is a exception. Was this review helpful to you?

One of the most interesting fantasy kdrama there is
The immense popularity of alchemy of souls forced me to give it a try. i have to say this drama is mind blowing!! Absolute brilliant writing and visuals !! Truly a treat for fantasy drama lovers. Alchemy of souls successfully fills the void of a historical fantasy kdrama about mages and a magical world. There are some characters that i loved and got attached to; my most favourite was naksu in mudok’s body, she had lost all her powers but she used her mind with such cleverness, her strong wit is the sole reason of UK’s success. I am sorry but she ate the ML’s spotlight .The chemistry she had with three guys at the same time was amazing, she bewitched me as well .This is what a well written character makes you feel !!🙇🏻♀️ 🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️
My other favourites were seo yul and the crown prince. There was something magical about Yul and naksu’s connection that made me want to root for him.. and I absolutely loved the bond between crown prince and mudok. The writer paired mudok with Uk, then they could’ve paired Yul with bu-yeon in naksu’s body. Then the show would’ve been perfect. It made me sad to see Yul heartbroken. Good boys always get heartbroken in kdramas!!! I am observing this pattern from many kdramas .. Anyhow Master Lee was also a surprisingly good character.
I wasn’t very impressed with the ML at first thou as he keep slacking off and didn’t do much of the hard work, moduk had to force him and push him to the edge (in his own words), it was frustrating to watch him being a brat. He truly got into his role after 11 episodes, when half season had already passed. He got a lot better towards the end but still not one of my favourite characters.
I do admit that first 10 episodes were slow paced and there were filler episodes that led the story nowhere.I enjoyed the last 10 episodes more.

Good cast but weak plot
Another show with an amazing cast but lame ass story. Honestly the plot was just soo typical. There was repetition in the entire story from the beginning episode till the end. I felt like same thing is happening in every episode. The whole drama had a gloomy vibe to it. Hardly any comedy or heartfelt moments. The ML is the DOOM! Not a devil or diety but DOOM/DEATH himself! Yet Doom’s character was hollow and very restricted. His character seemed too weak and frail to be called doom, didn’t showed any wickedness that a character called doom should have.
FL was a typical damsel in distress. Orphan who is living hand to mouth and terminally ill. Literally nothing was left when it comes to misery in her life. I was tired watching her cry every episode. It was annoying.
The god’s character also didn’t make any sense. Neither her will made any sense.
The 2nd leads had better story going on than the main lead couple.. The love triangle among the 2nd lead should get their spin off series. Main couple didn’t had many heartlfelt moments. I can’t remember any scene tht give me butterflies.
The show was overall dry with such a weak plot . Even the ending didn’t make much sense. Why make them go through that all? What purpose it served. No questions were answered as to why anything was happening. I finished the drama only to see what happens with the 2nd lead couple.
Music was good specially that instrumental music is soo mystical. I wish story was too.

Too gloomy for a sweet home
I am not into zombie/monsters/apocalypse kind of dramas or movies cuz they can be very disturbingly violent. Yet i gave this drama a try for Song Kang plus the rating is good.Honestly it’s just a typical apocalypse story with survivors. If you are looking for something extra ordinary in the plot, you won’t find one. At the beginning there are many survivors but one by one only few are left at the end. Every episode you will witness one or more characters die to the point that you are numb to it.. It was frustrating but for some reason i wanted to keep watching and see how it ends. It does get addicting and grows on you . You will get attached to the characters and hope for their survival . There were some heartwarming bonds like the old man in the wheelchair and hyun su, nurse yuri and the gangster, the kids and the grandpa . These bonds teared me up. Even if faced with apocalypse humans can still be empathetic. So if you plan on watching it, brace yourself, as there are going to be heart crushing moments.
Yet i don’t understand as how the humans were turning into strange monsters !! Like how their own desires were turning them into monsters as humans always have desires, they are made to have desires. Why were desires turning people into monsters if the curse was not contagious then how was it spreading!!! why the army started an apocalypse?? Too many questions and too little answers. I know there is season 2 and 3 and these questions might be answered in it. But i required a justification in this season as well as there were too many whys.

Overall a fun watch.
The matchmakers is one of those dramas that i am on edge about. I neither loved it nor hated it. But the story was interesting enough for me to continue watching it. The show was hilarious at times.I enjoyed watching the first 6 and last 3 episodes the most, the mission to marry the three sisters thrilled me and I was excited to see who each one of them will be paired with. Apart from the 3 sister’s marriage mart, the love story between our main leads, a widow and widower was intriguing. As their situation was no ordinary one, the curiosity keeps you going. The interactions between Lord shim and Lady yeoju were fun to watch. Rowoon is such a cuteheart throughout the drama, his expressions and body language was hilarious. I never thought he could play a comic role this good. He brought life to the show.
The drama started out soo well but lost track in the middle of the story. The matchmaking mission slowly turned into a murder mystery mission . And to solve those murder mysteries, new characters were introduced out of nowhere. They felt out of place to me. The homosexual monk and lady jung’s brother in law story didn’t explain how and why real lady yeoju was falsely accused of murder? This story was most out of place in the drama.
I was kinda bummed that none of the 3 sisters ended up with the bachelors they were initially paired up with in the matchmaking process. Considering how lady yeoju was an expert matchmaker and not a single match went according to plan!! I know it was because they weren’t meant to be but still atleast one pair could’ve had an arrange marriage if not all. To set an example that arrange marriages can work too, not everyone falls in love. Suddenly all old bachelors and ladies fell in love in the same episode. It was bit hasty.
Last but not the least a teenager boy and an adult women were paired up to get married. That was uncomfortable to watch. I was soo mad about this pairing it made me forget about other couples.
The drama was a rollercoaster ride with its ups & downs and good & bad moments. But the story was original and different from what I have watched before . Also can’t deny that the show was hilarious.

Main characters’s story stated way too late
Main lead characters are secondary in the showThe first episode is not very intriguing but once you get past it, the shows gets interesting. Then again the show gets boring around episode 5. I know the story revolves around grim reapers dealing with suicide cases but watching different stories with the same plot gets dragging . We know someone will try to suicide and RM team will save them and same plot repeats in every episode. It gets boring and predictable . I feel like the main leads had barely any story. If you watch episode 2 and then skip it to episode 8, you’d barely miss anything. Because the main leads don’t have much of a story going on in present time. We do see their past in the last episodes but that was just too late.when the interesting part started, show ended. Yes, last 4 episodes were the most interesting out of all the show.
I watched the show for Lee soo hyuk and we barely see him in the 1st half of the show. Even rowoon barely seems to have his own story going on.
Apart from that some stories were way too intense.. Writer could've lighten up by adding some comforting episodes . But I get the message of the show that words and attitude can have a huge impact. It’s good for one time watch.

Bummer at the end
I have watched many international dating shows and it was my first time watching a Korean dating show . The international dating shows are all about the physical attraction and lust. So what I liked most about the show was how they focused on getting to know each other slowly rather than jumping on each other right away.😂I liked how it started with expressing the first impression of the person and then matching for dates later. And cooking with each other was the best part as it gives a lot of time to interact with each other in a natural setting rather than going on fancy dates right away.
But what I didn’t liked was that how the new members joined soo late and they didn’t got the chance to built anything with anyone. And the worst part is tht all the couples who left together at the end are not together. Yes, not a single one of them are together. It all starts to look fake like how they shared beautiful moments and never dated in real is just soo weird to me.
Like what’s the purpose of these reality dating shows if no one sticks together or even tries to date after leaving the show. Makes it all pointless. I was hoping better from a Korean dating show.

Too much action and too little romance
Snowdrop could’ve been one of the top love stories of k-drama world. But the writer wasted it all on the hostage situation. The first episodes gave so much hope for a love story to be remembered and cherished but then it all went down with the 4th episode. The problem was not the hostage situation itself but problem was that 80% of the show was about hostage situation and the multiple failed deals between the spies and ANSP. I didn’t got to see the romance between the main leads that I was hoping for. I was bummed.
There is soo much I wanted to see, the drama had perfect lead couple, 80s backdrop, the old school romance. But instead ten focus was on a lot of action, politics and dragged hostage situation.
The ending was not that emotional like i imagined it would be. Main lead character’s death is a big deal and makes you cry but i didn’t cry or felt that sad bcz his death did not came as a shock. It was obvious so it didn’t invoke that many sad emotions. His ending should’ve been more memorable.

Every gamers fantasy
Not gonna lie, i started this drama because of hyun bin. I am crushing hard on him after watching crash landing on you. So i went blindly into this drama yet unexpectedly enjoyed it.Memories of Alhambra is a fantasy science fiction. Story is quite intriguing. I enjoyed all gaming details that were embodied in the story. If you love playing videos games you are gonna like this one. The plot was difficult to understand at first but i enjoyed the unpredictably of it. No one knew how and why the game became real ! And I was curious to find that out. Although I wasn’t satisfied with the explanation of how the error made people die in reality. There could’ve been a better explanation. But nonetheless I enjoyed the drama.
Mostly K-dramas that I watched had somewhat similar plot that are too predictable but this drama was unique and I am here for the suspense.it caught me off guard. Visuals were amazing. Plus the music was great, the theme song Little Prince is love 💓

Alchemy of Souls Season 2: Light and Shadow

Disappointed and hurt
This is not the same alchemy of souls that i’ve watched !! Certainly doesn’t feel like the same drama. The whole plot is strange in an odd way. The problem is not because of a new actress as female lead but the whole drama has turned into lame marriage of convenience story . What happened to the badass shadow assassin!!It would’ve been much better if the new character was buyeon instead of naksu. Naksu’s amnesia ruined the entire story. The whole “naksu’s soul and moduk’s body together” made no sense at all. The writers could’ve easily gotten out of this by an simple explanation. But 2 souls on one body was absurd and too hard to comprehend. They negated their own rules of alchemy of souls. The whole drama turned into a joke.
Nothing seem to change much for the crown prince and yul either. And Uk keeps getting special treatment as buyeon falls right into his lap. I am soo disappointed, i can’t watch it further and ruin the memories of season 1.
