I really had no prior knowledge about the draft lottery in Thailand so it was very interesting to see how the two brothers dealt with that. We get to see how Oat develops into more mature person throughout the movie. The relationship between the brothers is heartwarming. The scenes when they're together make you feel so sentimental.

ACTING/CAST: All were professional about their work but I really thought Damrongsakkul Ingkarat (Young Oat) did a great job being only 12 at the time.
MUSIC: It was OK but not memorable.
REWATCH VALUE: Maybe with a friend.
OVERALL: A well-done coming-of-age movie. The cinematography was excellent.

A very tasteful film, in terms of processing, the story (although it was not suitable for me, but interestingly done, how an adult Oat remembers the period around his age of around eleven), the choice of actors is absolutely luxurious for the eye of not only a European.
The acting is also decent, including little Oat, no affected whining, as we are used to in Asian productions. And finally, the topic of the "draw" was already familiar to me, I had already seen the documentary Draft Day by the same director presented here before ...

Among all the films and series that I've watched this weekend this was the best. Well I was impressed by the story line. I am not familiar with the drafting in Thailand but I know it does exist. What really made me appreciate this movie was the fact that this film talks about two brother's fight for survival. I am quite attached to stories with this kind of theme because I myself is a brother to my younger siblings so I quite understand how it big the pressure was most especially if you were the eldest and both parents are not around.
ACTING/CAST:
Hahaha I thought I would be seeing more of Rakkaen in this movie but it was not what I've expected. Much credit should be given to the man who played as the elder brother though obviously this story rotates on how the youngest brother played by Damrongsakkul grew using the lessons he'd learned from what his brother been through. All actors did a wonderful job though.
MUSIC:
Music? Uhmmmm.. nothing remarkable. hehehe but some background music intensified some scenes.
REWATCH VALUE:
Well, I've totally reflected from it and I'm done. Maybe if one of my friend watch it and I will be there without doing nothing maybe I can take a peep. Maybe not.. I might spoil him/her.

Oat, anak yang diperkenalkan dengan kehidupan orang dewasa yang tidak menyenangkan.
Mempunyai bentuk alur yang mundur, film yang satu ini punya life meaning dan bentuk cerita yang bagus dan unik. Menceritakan tentang seorang anak yang bernama Oat, ia hidup bersama bibi dan seorang kaka laki-lakinya yang gay. Oat terlahir di keluarga yang miskin dan tidak punya otorisasi apa-apa tentang kehidupan, oleh karena itu keluarganya hanya bergantung pada suatu hal yang ada saja, seperti air yang mengalir terus menerus. Hal ini membuat Oat berfikir mengenai kehidupan yang sesungguhnya, bagaimana berjuang untuk itu, dan menyadari bahwa kehidupan ini diatur oleh hirarki dan uang. Oat belajar banyak dari pengalaman kakaknya dalam berjuang mencari uang, mencari kehidupan yang adil, dan lain sebagainya. Dari segi dialog menurutku mudah di mengerti ya, scene memang mempunyai beberapa filler, namun filler di sini membuat film ini terasa seperti film yang nyata atau seperti film yang memang di buat tanpa dibuat-buat (atau dibuat terlihat senatural mungkin), penggambaran mengenai Oat menurutku bagus ya, karena memperlihatkan ekspresi dan respon seorang anak kecil terhadap sesuatu hal yang dia belum fahami terutama tentang kerasnya hidup sebagai orang dewasa. Selain itu, Ek atau kakaknya Oat menurutku bisa memerankan perannya sebagai kakak bagi Oat, dia bisa menampilkan dirinya bekerja keras dan melakukan hal-hal demi keluarganya, scene ini banyak memperlihatkan tentang ketidakadilan dan penggambaran kehidupan nyata yang keras, sangat rekomendasi sih menurutku ya.
