I was kind of unsure if I want to watch this series... this huge age gap and the daughter... I didn't know if they'll be able to pull it off... I had no reasons to worry!
This is not your typical BL drama. It might be sweet and cute but the relationship itself is quite unusual.
Drama concentrate mostly on Shi Yi Jie and Fei Sheng Zhe relationship. There is a "side couple" but they have hardly any time to develop their relationship, from my perspective their job is mostly to ease some tension when problems show up and bring some laugh as they tend to behave quite funny and chaotically .
FSZ is a warm person, very loving and considerate but quite unconfident and scared as he went thru some hard moments in the past.
SYJ is quite a lost person... messy, unorganized and very lonely. He loves his daughter but he doesn't know how to be a father (there is another reason to his behavior, watch if u want to know :P ) and so he tends to bury himself under the mountain of books.
SYJ somehow meets FSZ that shows him how lonely and lost he was all this time, FSZ points out for him his faults and mistakes while showering him with warmth...
What I love is that SYJ doesn't need anyone to tell him about his own feelings and he doesn't need no-ones assurance, when he finds out he wants this boy to stay by his side he is not shy, he faces FSZ and express his feelings in the honest and straightforward way. He knows how world works but he want to be brave for the one he loves and he doesn't want to hide, he wants a normal relationship.
There are pros and cons to this relationship and the age gap (12 years), SYJ has more experience in life situations and he doesn't get lost or confused, he knows what is needed in the stable relationship (I always have problem with this in dramas as characters tends to assume a lot of things, easy get swayed by others or just don't open their mouth to ask questions that would make their life easier and would fix mont of the problems), SYJ wouldn't let anything and anyone go in-between of them, he fixes avery problem systematically so FSZ would not feel hurt and so their relationship can progress.
FSZ ... what to say? He my looks like an adult and he is quite a responsible boy but when they meet he is only 19... VERY YOUNG... he is scared and he makes mistakes as he doesn't know how to proceed with this relationship. Everything is new to him and he's just a young unexperienced man... He is so lucky that he met SYJ that is patient enough to teach him... If this was relationship between two 19 y.o. guys they would have broken up long time ago.
I fully recommend this series as the topics it touches (marriage, trust, children, problems growing up as a gay, hard childhood) are very important and I think we should have more dramas/movies like this.
Yes this series is too short to give us in-depth exposure of this topics but the way it's touching them here is very well done, brief but with a taste. All I could wish fore is more time for them to explore...
Well written and well directed series! Good acting ! Even You You was such a good girl!!!
It was such a pleased experience I'm sure I'll be back for more!

The acting is okay, but I do not really feel the chemistry between the two actors. Individually, they are okay but when they are acting together in a scene, I can feel some awkwardness between them.
I think the only times where I would rewatch this series is when someone discusses about this series with me. I could not really remember the whole plot of this series because some parts just lost my attention. It is not that the pace is too slow, it is just that I do not understand what they were trying to do and their purposes.

Definitely worth a watch if you want some lovely BL with not too much 'hot' action. (which I have to say is important for me, I like just the innocent stuff)
That being said, I also have to say it wasn't too deep, the emotions were mostly simplified, the side characters didn't have that much to do or show. But it didn't really feel off because it was sort of clear that the series doesn't really want to be more than that, and considering that I think it did an okay job. It's enjoyable and nice, a nice breeze of wind on a hot day or something like that. I wouldn't consider this the best BL drama or the best HiStory I've seen so far (that's still 'Boundary Crossing' for me <3 ).
I liked the actors but I have to say, the acting was not the best in my opinion. For me the best acting is when it feels the most honest and the least awkward, which I have to say IS difficult to do. And I did feel awkwardness at some scenes, not only with the kissing and such, just overall the acting didn't feel a 100% all the time. (and I'm not even talking about the little girl, she was actually pretty good)
/Also I'm kind of against big age gaps because I think that's just gonna be hard on the younger person, but here it's still tolerable I think./
I'd say it's a decent series, worth checking it out!

This is the first of the History series that I have watched and now I want to watch more. Usually the teacher student relationship isn't my thing but this show is the exception and I think the way they handled the relationship was really well done. I adore just how domestic this couple is and they family dynamic that they have with Yoyo. They tackle real life issues and the realities of this type of relationship. Also I'm always into bi representation and I like that this isn't about a man being traumatized and heartbroken from his ex wife and then turning gay but it's man who got divorced from his wife and just so happened to now fall in love with another man. Also how they handled the ex-wife was perfection. The acting was good they only criticism i have is that some of the crying scenes weren't great and kind of looked like the actors were more laughing as apposed to crying. Sometimes HIStory does it right
The HIStory drama's are very hit and miss, they are either really fun and sweet or complete toxic filth, luckily this one is just beautiful.A sweet story about two people who meet each other at the right time, both are strong and weak in different ways but they complement and help each other while falling in love.
I hate so many BL drama's because of their silly, childish stories that always glorify bad behavior and show gayness in a terrible light, this drama is a perfect drama.
Characters you like, you smile when they are happy, cry when they are sad and cheer for the happy ending, life might not always end happy but drama's should.

Unexpectedly Wonderful!
After watching the complete HIStory Season 1, and finding it quite bad, I was reluctant to watch 'HIStory2: Right or Wrong', even though 'Crossing the Line' - the second story of HIStory2 was absolutely amazing, stunning and mesmerising. Another reason for my reluctance was the age gap between the lead characters- I thankfully have no bias against such a relationship, but the handling of the age gap theme that I had seen so far had lacked depth and conviction.Nevertheless, I gave this one a try, and was on the verge of leaving it after watching the first two episodes (probably because of my reluctance?). But I went on to the third episode, and was surprised to see the quality of the series improve. And this improvement continued, quite amazingly, till the very end, and I ended up falling in love with the series. The story, the acting, the clarity, the honesty and the crisp handling of complex issues- all of these made the series beautiful and took my heart away. And I also felt grateful and really happy that the younger lead was not made to suffer unnecessarily in his new relationship, after having experienced shit at an early age.
So go ahead and watch this one to your heart's content, without any doubt.
After all, it is rare that you end up giving a series 9 stars, after thinking of dropping it at the beginning!

I love this so much. Ive rewatched the last episode like 4 times
I love this so much. Ive rewatched the last episode like 4 times (..sure the age gap is weird but you gotta do what you gotta do)First off, I watched HIStory1: My Hero, HIStory1: Stay Away From Me, HIStory1: Obsessed, all before I watched HIStory2: Right or Wrong. I gave My Hero a 6.5/10. Stay Away From Me a 8/10. Obsessed a 9/10. And I am giving Right or Wrong a 9.5/10 for a multitude of reasons.
The upgrade in editing and just overall story quality, music, and acting was ASTRONOMICALLY better than, say, My Hero. Like WOW what happened between 2017 and 2018 because damn I am impressed...I am easily impressed, but I honestly think this show deserves way more hype because it was so good.
I don't remember what episode this was in, but I want to say it was in one of the first four, but when it flashed back to when Fei Sheng Zhe was bullied for being gay I felt like the show really humanized him because stuff like this happens all the time and society just like ignores it. Although the people bullying him were goofy as hell...
The acting was so good. Like Fei Sheng Zhe's crying felt so authentic and I truely felt moved.
REAL TALK for a second yall..How old is ths student?....Okay after further watching the show. They have a 12 year age gap...Fei Sheng Zhe is 19 and Shi Yi Jie is 31...Thats where i wil be taking off 2 stars like wtf. Any other troupe would have been better...but whatever they were mad cute so.
Who the fuck were those girls taking picture of them saying "gender is not a problem" *takes picture* yall we being for real right now? Why was this shit necessary?
Finally, i want to add back half a start because of the last 20 minutes. Like when he found out it was his birthday and then thier "sex" scene was what i live for. My final verdict is 9.5/10. THIS SHIT IS AMAZING.
Sorry if there are any grammar errors. English is my first language im just bad at it.

Super Cute and Very Endearing
At first, I was a little nervous to watch this because of some other dramas I've seen that really push the teacher/student. This definitely exceeded my expectations in quality, however! Yes, there is an age gap (which is brought up many times) and YiJie is XiaoFei's teacher, however, the student/teacher is extremely minimal, and YiJie does not have very much authority over XiaoFei.I found the character writing to be extremely strong and endearing, especially in the case of YoYo, who was always a delight. The romance felt very believable, especially compared to the HIStory 1 romances previously.

The chemistry is really at the point. The main cast is unimpeachable, and also I have to say that it's one of these real rare cases in an Asian drama when a child seems credible and sympathetic (another example would be "Zenkai Girl", not very good as a drama but really nice talking about the role of children).
Also the story is much more mature and sensitive when we are used to see in such dramas. I was really surprised to see such a gourmet character as a no iconic professor to be the main character in a BL story. All in all, an extremely charming show ;)

The story is very well built, with no loose ends and edited such that it is easy to follow in spite of its complexity; the flashbacks are seamless and the plot is as dramatic and spellbinding as that of larger and more polished productions.
The acting is also a wonderful match to the story; the chemistry - such an important element in this genre of movies - is there across the entire cast... between the two main characters and among all of the supporting cast. The performances of Jiang Chang Hui and the younger Hang Zhang are particularly striking.
The music didn’t strike me as particularly noteworthy, but now then the movie didn’t really call for a musical background a great deal; it rested mainly on the performance of its protagonists. And with regards to its rewatch value, I have seen this movie twice already; the movie’s redeeming values and general good feel makes it a joy to watch it twice.

Finally an enjoyable story with a plot that actually makes sense. HIStory 1 was a disappointment (compared to Trapped and MODC) but Right or Wrong was the start of the quality series we know today. (not a lot of spoilers, by the way)The relationship is very healthy. I personally don't have any prejudice regarding (legal) age gap relationships and it's obvious that none of the ML's were taking advantage of the other. Yo Yo just added even more cuteness to their story; I think the little actress did a great job, her role was heart-warming.
I have to say that some of the acting from the ML's didn't convince me and their kissing scenes were a bit awkward (the last few). You could tell that their lips were just touching, no tongue was involved but they made it look so intense with their mouvements that it simply didn't work.
I really liked the way they helped each other and grew together. In the other HIStory seasons (HIStory 1) the storyline was way too out there and the characters were bad clichés for the most part. In this one, however, I saw a true effort from the writer, the director and the actors to make it look realistic and something other people can learn from.
Overall, I enjoyed this mini-show a lot!

For the music let me be honest with you I can even remember the story took me away more but it was still good.
I really need another season or same cast in different series because they were so good together I loved their bond and everything also I loved the little girl's acting as well.
I would definitely watch this again and if you're just bored don't have anything to do give it a chance ;)
