Entertaining comedy-action heist movie!
I never really have high expectations for this movie when I decided to watch. I know that there would be awesome casts and that the movie’s highly awaited, seeing how it’s promoted here and there (on Jessi Show and Running Man). So, why not watch it?This movie begins with Dong Gu, a tomb raider who has a revenge on “someone” (so it wouldn’t be much of a spoiler) after burying him when he was little and his dad alive. He eventually forms a troop of his own (everyone with different specialties) to fulfill the main mission (which is to steal a Joseon King’s original sword located in a fully secured tomb.
This movie is incredibly funny. Unlike The Thieves which focuses mainly on spy things, like climbing buildings or hacking systems, which could be so boring so predictable so illogically impossible, Collectors focuses more on the “planning” which is waaay more interesting in my opinion. Added with the right amount of real funny comedy, and NO betrayals, this is definitely my favorite Korean heist movie! Although the storyline is pretty much simple, even the ending was so simple, but it was yet again, unpredictable, topped with a comedic plot twist, this movie is SURPRISINGLY very good!
Jo Woo Jin and Im Won Hee’s character were my favorite characters. Super duper funny acting, not over the top, just the perfect amount of comedy. Shin Hye Sun’s character a total baddie, and judging by the ending... ⚠️ SPOILER: there’s a possibility of a season 2 where Shin Hye Sun would be helping Dong Goo and his team. ⚠️
Overall, an entertaining movie I would like to recommend all of you. No serious conflicts, no pointless fighting scenes, just pure teamwork and happy endings! A 9/10 for me! Definitely recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The characters were likeable but totally stereotype. Neither of them had some depth and therefore didn't make me care much (even though I love the leads in general). It would have been nice if at least one of them showed some more traits. The side cast were actually more interesting because of its humorous attitude.
I liked that they added a trope I usually only see in dramas - the ominous past connection of some characters -, because I didn't expect to see it in this kind of movie.
The story development was somewhat slow-paced. We already suspect that not everything is what it seems, so the planning of the heist didn't need to be explained so thoroughly.
All in all a nice watch, but I missed some... peculiarity and substance.

Fun Heist Movie
The movie is about a grave robber trying to attempt a big heist in the middle of Seoul.I liked the first part where they were showing how good the lead was in pulling off heists (which felt like the setup of the story) but the second part dragged when we find out what the real intention was. There were also too many characters to follow. There were also more action in the first part. The comedy also fell flat sometimes. I didn't like Hyesun's character, all she did was raise her eyebrows or do her smirk. I love Jae Hoon, he always looks like a fun guy. I like the twist at the end where they showed how they successfully pulled off the heist.
Rating: 8/10

Some scenes were fun and some were a bit boring.
This movie was okay. Some scenes were fun and some were a bit boring. There are many characters to follow in this movie which makes it a bit chaotic. The plot is very typical in terms of twists ultimately leading to revenge. "Collectors" is also a predictable title. Nothing new happened in it, so the film would be remembered for a longer time. Probably in a week, I won't remember that I watched it.
However, if you like this type of title and you want to watch something undemanding, you may enjoy this movie.
Also, Shin Hye Sun is perfect.

Predictable yet fun~
Story: A revenge heist that is quite predictable with sprinkles of humor.Acting: Convincing acting with some of the familiar faces. Not sure if it's a star-studded movie but I know most of them or watched them from popular dramas. I, however, think that Dr. Jones made this movie more fun. Jo woo jin is a versatile actor and has been my favorite lately.
Music: Hollywood-like sound effects and music.
Re-watch Value: Rewatchable to those who's looking for a quick funny movie.
Overall: 6-7 stars. It's not exactly recommendable because some might find this boring because of the predictable plot but it's not a bad watch when you are bored or in need of something to pass the time. Nothing much substance story-wise but I would be interested to watch the part 2, hoping for a better plot, action scenes and villain. The CEO wasn't really scary for me and felt like the purpose of the 'snakes' was kind of a waste. Could have been better but not the worse.

Must watch comedy heist
Who doesn't love heist movies, right? I can say that this movie is almost on the Hollywood level movie for heists. What's interesting about this is there were lots of comedic scenes throughout the movie. But of course while building a big picture story that makes sense. There's also a twist towards the latter part so watch out for it.The casts' performance also made this movie fun and great to watch. All of them have unique roles to fill and the chemistry is undeniably good. I really wish that there will be a sequel for this although I am not sure if there were talks about it.
You can watch this on Netflix. It's a good movie to watch on a weekend when you just want to relax.

Hilarious entertaining heist
It is great to watch when you're bored or when you just want to have fun. It was a great idea of them to use factual artifacts as it gave knowledge in a way and helped the movie to become less nonsensical. The color saturation they used wasn't much intense so it felt gloomy and of low quality. Other than that all is great. The pace was perfect, the camera angles were good, and especially the actors, they were very hilarious and all of them blended well with each other.
Side note: The moment I knew it will be about revenge I felt dismay but it did not affect the movie in a bad way.

Collectors is Indiana Jones meets Ocean's 11
An elite group of underground thieves gathers together to carry out a dangerous mission- grave robbing a royal tomb located in the bustling Gangnam area. I had mixed feelings about this film. It's not the tomb raider mission we know where they visit ancient places and sacred temples to steal an artifact. The mission is located right in one of Seoul's busiest districts which gives off a new and fresh vibe in the story. The story itself, however, is a bit lacking. Maybe I was expecting an action-packed movie, with lots of stimulating plots. While the film has an ensemble cast of great actors, including the Shin Hye Sun, it felt like the characters were a little restricted. It could be in the script, but nevertheless, these actors could have given more vibrance to the characters if these characters were written more dynamically. If you are someone who likes stories like Indiana Jones, Tomb Raider, or Ocean's 11, Collectors would be a good film to watch. Was this review helpful to you?

This movie is so fun AF
Finished yet another of Lee Jehoon movies lol, I'm on a roll! Honestly I have to say that either Jehoon was really blessed to be cast in some really good production or he really had a knack at choosing what kind of production that he was gonna be part it. Because really, a lot of the movies he's in that I've watched so far always turned out surprisingly beyond what could've been expected at first glance. Like you'd think that this movie was just about grave robbers stealing artifacts and national treasures for their own profits... but you probably wouldn't expect that these same grave robbers would end up doing a major heroic deed!Like at first as the movie opened up, we were introduced to the main character, Kang Donggu who may appear to just be a simple grave robber who just want to steal artifacts for his own profits. To which later on he ended up entangled with people who may end up being out of their leagues. At first glance, the whole setting might seem to be uninteresting but you can't be more mistaken about that! The adventure that unfolds afterwards turned out to be as exciting as the original Indiana Jones trilogy!
Lee Jehoon as Kang Donggu was really a good fit for him, like it felt that the character was really written for him and only him. I really couldn't imagine anyone else who could play Donggu better other than Jehoon. Jehoon really made the character to be so charming and quirky yet also have a certain depth as you find out what kind of dark past that Donggu had that made him be so good at being a grave robber. Shin Hyesun as Curator Yoon was really amazing. And seeing how convincing she was while having to speak Chinese and Japanese fluently like a native really shows how good she was as an actress.
Jo Woojin as the Korean Indiana Jones was also so charming. Like I knew him from Goblin, he was so cool as Secretary Kim but he was so charismatic and funny in this movie it was really fun seeing him being paired with Jehoon as the movie's dynamic duo. Im Wonhae was really so funny as the Shoveller, I swear whenever I see him in any show he'll always makes me laugh.
This movie was really funny and exciting and seriously had plenty of colourful characters that you can't help loving. I have to say that this movie immediately become one of my new favourite amongst many other movies that I've watched.
