one thing loved the chemistry, and acting and they actually had love that was expressed in more than stares and those famous back hugs. this was a combination of The Glamorous Imperial Concubine and the perfect couple only these two were somewhat better, for me at least.but i still loved it and enjoyed watching it, but i mostly loved the first half of it and would rewatch it up to there, because the main leads where steaming up.
FLAWS(may contain spoilers):with wu jis character traits he fell in love too fast, perfect couple did it well.
i mean you wouldnt fall in love with someone who u believe is your enemy that fast, he also became gullible and changed too fast, even lang ling wang Gao chang gong was not this softened(he was but in a normal way) and he loved yang xia woo like hell.
it kind of went off track and became a match making drama really, i mean too many impossible love affairs.but aside from that totally recommend it

This is my first China drama....wasn't sure what to expect but thought it would be quite old-fashioned and dated.....but, I was pleasantly surprised.

All members of the cast did a good job - especially the main cast, I really felt drawn in to the main couple while I also loved the supporting cast too. The story developed at a good pace and there was never a dull moment. The plot kept me interested and wanting to know what would happen next, and showed the typical Chinese culture and politics, the 'guanxi' that still exists today in China. There was no adult theme or shots while the love stories blossomed naturally and the story ripened over the episodes.

I would recommend this drama - I finished the 25 episodes quickly!

I just finished Journey of Flower and was looking for something new to watch. This is not like journey of flower, but still good. I certainly think the actress reminds me of Ariel Lin at times. Not too campy. A bonus is that there is really no love triangle with the leads (yay!).

1. It drags a little around episode 16, which felt kind of like a filler episode. I also disliked the opening song and thought the youngest brother was kind of annoying/campy.

2.On the left, we have Shi Wu Ji who is brutal, cold, and wears the same black robes as if to communicate he is someone whom one does not f*** with. He is 29. Revenge is his game, as his entire family minus siblings were murdered during a fire. What makes him a bit more human are the little things, like the fact that he has no sense of direction and easily gets lost and won't admit it, but remains silently serious while others tease him--

3.On the right, we have Su Huan Er/Lang Yiu, who is 18, and is the ignored and unrecognized daughter of a very conniving, money hungry man. She is described as 'servant' but is more like a lady's companion to her sister Huan Er whose place she takes to marry Shu Wi Ji. She is both unconventional, incredibly cute, impudent, and yet not annoying (rare, to play this role and not be annoying). She is not perfect, and has an agenda of her own, and wants to protect her family because her father now recognizes her. She firmly believes he is innocent.

4.Shu Wi Ji suspects that the Su family is responsible for his parents deaths. This is revealed in the first episode. Hence his marriage is more about revenge, i.e. finding a way to spy more easily on the family.

5.The romance builds nicely, and at a refreshingly quick pace but given the first half is 25 episodes, it makes sense. It is nice to see Shu Wi Ji go all god of war when his beloved Su Huan Er is in danger.

6.I watched this for the romance--there was a lot of on screen hugging, kissing, make-out scenes and references to love making and then the screen would of course go dark and not show us what they were doing...but we knew *grins* at one point he actually says that he has to show her how he feels with his body and then he carries her to the bed xoxoxo AND the female lead is a little aggressive in her kissing/not submissive :D

To sum up, I adored the male leads icy bad assness and the female leads bubbly personality and to watch them both change and and grow together. At last, a male lead who is not afraid to talk about feelings! He clearly struggles to express himself....I have been following this actress ever since I watched Journey of Flower and thus far have not been disappointed//when she called Shu Wi Ji it sometimes sounded like Shifu to me lolz

This is one of my favourite classical drama. I have actually rewatch this drama 3 times.
The story is good and will keep you continue watching. It is about the actress who is forced to marry the eldest son who want to take the opportunity to take revenge. This family of 3 brothers and a sister whom their parents was killed by the actress father finally accepted the actress because of her sacrifices, sincere and kind heart. Her father was very evil and make used of her. She was treated like a servant since young because her mom run away from home after giving birth to her. The two brothers in love with the actress and finally she has a very happy ending. Very touching story.
All the cast are good with great chemistry.
The Actress Zanilia Zhao is a very good actress and the second male lead Han Dong act very well too. The actress ended up with the main lead and all the 3 brothers have happy ending. Definitely worth rewatch.

I watched this drama because I loved the main actress (Zanilia) in THE JOURNEY OF FLOWER, where she was absolutely amazing as a strong female character. So, I can't blame her for the wishy washy, gullible female she turned into (especially towards the end) in this drama. The writing for her storyline was just awful. The top half of the drama was very promising with the cold and handsome Shi Wu Ji played by Qi Ji. Strangely enough, the writer did an amazing job writing his character, ruthless, cold, sharp businessman. Yet he meets his soul mate and he turns into this wonderful husband/lover who loves her despite all her flaws and hands her the world on a Silver platter no less. But Huan Er doesn't fully appreciate all that he does and chooses the Stupidest path which of course hurts this wonderful man. To be honest, I don't think she deserved him. Watch this drama for Qi Ji. I first saw him in CRUEL ROMANCE also as a cold ruthless Japanese spy. He was so handsome, I really wanted to like him, but he was just so evil. So this drama really redeemed him in my eyes as a tamed bad boy. I look forward to seeing him in more dramas.

I loved loved loved the main characters. They are so cute together. They had a lot of chemistry. I didn't know that there was a second part and it was about the other 2 brothers. Didn't care too much for that. I skipped it and watched the ending. I didn't miss much. I would rewatch this just for Zanilia and the oldest brother.

Initially the story was reasonable but as it goes on the story starts to get ridiculous with contradictions.  Episodes 21 onwards gets illogical especially when Huan Er chose her dad over husband. Imagine you chose to jump into the lion den again when knowing your dad is such a rascal and your love chemistry is so great.   Episodes 22 to 25 are just plain boring...merely to get to episode 25. Further the geography is completely ignore  as one can move from Hangzhou to the north so quickly demonstrating poor research.

Wow. I stumbled upon this drama by mistake and it turned out to be a good one!

The first part revolves around Su Huan Er/Yang Yi Liu. YYL is also a daughter of the Su Manor but because her mother ran away and left her behind as a newborn, her father and his family treats her like shit. Su Huan Er and her mom (Yu Niang) pretty much are her own family. When Shi Wu Ji and his brothers from Ao Long Bao find clues leading to the demise of their family, back to Su Manor they announce an engagement and request Huan Er. However, Huan Er doesn't want to be forced so she runs away and falls off a cliff. YYL takes her place and the drama continues, but does she fulfill her father's wishes or becomes a good wife?

This drama is cute. The acting, cast, plot is very enjoyable. I liked the romance between our two leads. The moments before they fall in love is adorable and quite comedic. Huan Er/YYL and Shi Wu Ji are just so cute together, and such relationship goals. They both love each other, wholeheartedly and even sacrifice their happiness at times than admit their feelings are hurt. Their love gave me such anxiety because of their fights, and how they would push each other away when you know they both love and yearn for one another.

I also like the whole being filial vs finding your own happiness, that Huan Er goes through. It really makes you think about what female lead should do.

Overall the ending is good with most of our characters finding true love. And in the end Shi Wu Ji finds out there's another's killer on the lose, and I assume it'll be part two when they find out who it is.

The plot and acting overall is pretty good. Although the drama had some saucy scenes between the two main characters, I feel like the chemistry was a bit dry. I was damn thirsty for some more chemistry between the two. THERE SHOULD BE MORE BUILD-UP between the two main character's love story; I feel like they just reveal to the audience that the main leads like each other, but they didn't really show how which makes the drama feel a bit rushed. The drama explored other character's love story, which is totally fine to me. However, at times I do find it hard to see which one is more significant in the drama, whether it'll be the side characters or the main characters. They explored a bit too much on the other side character's love life rather than the actual main character's love life. And that's what I mean by dry.

I do have to warn you that you will definitely have the urge to punch your computer screen when you see the father. Also, I find it excruciatingly painful to see the female lead to constantly be fooled and to constantly protect her father. LIKE CAN'T YOU REALISE THE ROTTEN PERSON HE IS? The drama would been SO MUCH better if it wasn't up to the female lead who you constantly feel like whacking some sense into her. I mean I still have 4 more episodes to go...but as of right now I am really not enjoying the sight of her. I mean if you're a person who enjoys or doesn't mind these type of stuff...the drama would be good for you to watch. Because as I said earlier, the overalls of the drama, acting and storyline is pretty good, it's just those little bits that turns me off. But I mean this is really subjective...So you can give it a try, and who knows you might even like it.

Cute lead couple.

I loved how Huan Er effortlessly chiseled away at the stone wall that surrounded Wu Ji's cold heart. A precocious 9 year old Wu Ji, having lost his parent due to limitless greed. This leaves him de facto head of house and parent to his younger siblings, leaving only duty and revenge in his heart. Huan Er slowly conquers one family member after another with her integrity, courage and kindness, finally melting Wu Ji's own heart.

The only flaw with this story is Huan Er's huge blind spot in seeing her father as the treacherous monster he really is. She is supposed to be intelligent, but when it comes to her father, she is dumber than a box of rocks. The saying, "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me," comes to mind. It is only when her daddy issues put Wu Ji's life in jeopardy that she finally wakes up to smell the coffee, or tea, as the case may be.

LOVE STORY. Make you laugh, cry, sad, happy, excited like a kid & fall in love all over again.

I rarely ever watch drama BUT I'm addicted to this drama. Watch it at least 50 times already from 1st ep - last ep & still come back to it time to time to re-watch those sweet moments of Zhao Lying (wife) & Qi Ji (husband). They did an awesome job in their roles & act very well together just like a real life husband & wife. It's FUN, FUNNY, SWEET, EXCITED to watch. Especially when it's about Zhao Lying & Qi Ji. She's beautiful, hilarious & always willing to help the weaker. He's cold as stone, smart, warm BUT caring, loyal to his friends, responsible & faithful to his wife & his family. The story line was really good. Zhao Lying's father in the drama killed Qi Ji's parents. After 20 years of searching for their parent's killer, Qi Ji finally learn that person is Zhao Lying's father. Even though he wants so much to kill the person that murder his parents, burn down his home & took everything from him BUT he couldn't do it because of Zhao Lying. She was NEVER LOVED, cared or respected by her Dad since she was born. To earn her Dad's love, care & attention, she thought she will do everything her Dad wants her to do UNTIL she FALL IN LOVE with Qi Ji... Around 20 ep - 25 ep, I CRIED a lot. Their ACTING WERE SO GOOD that I can feel their pain as I was them. She couldn't let her loving husband kill her Dad meanwhile she's hurt by learning that her Dad used her to kill her husband & destroy his family & couldn't stop him no matter what. She LOVE her husband very much & willing to die for him. Their GOODBYE scene as she's leaving her husband to go with her Dad BROKE my heart. He LOVE her very much & so as all of his family members. Even they know her father was the KILLER of their parents, THEY STILL LOVE & PROTECT HER very much. At the end, it's the husband that SAVE HER FATHER'S LIFE. The LOVE Qi Ji has for his wife is BIGGER then the hate for his parent's death. HAPPY ENDING. I really LOVE the relationships of these brothers & sisters & the love & support for sister in law. This is a DREAM husband's family that all women wish to have. Zhao Lying & Qi Ji's character are MADE FOR EACH OTHER. The whole cast DID VERY WELL. I LOVE 1ST SEASON A LOT BETTER THAN 2ND SEASON. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! :) GREAT MESSAGE, GREAT STORY LINE & AWESOME CAST. THANK YOU! I WISH ZHAO LYING & QI JI HAVE MORE PROJECTS IN THE FUTURE. THEY ACT VERY WELL TOGETHER. IF THIS COMES OUT NOW, IT COULD BE VERY POPULAR.

Excellent

I absolutely loved this drama ... I had to look it up and ask others as to the true name of this series as it was being called something else on YouTube and I wanted to know the actors in it. Thankfully many kind people on here replied and told me it's real series name. This story has great romance, action, many good characters and storylines and held my interest right up to the final episode. I really felt all the actors were very good and the ML and FL really kept it strong and interesting. It s one of my faves and I will watch it again . I think it kept a real sense of love and family in it through out. Kudos to all involved in this series!!
