Han Hyo Joo will reportedly be the main lead for "Happiness"
An official from the drama shared on media outlet Daily Sports on March 24 that actress Han Hyo Joo is considering a role in an upcoming drama directed by Ahn Gil Ho.
"Happiness" will be produced by Studio Dragon and the script will be written by Han Sang Woon. The drama is expected to air in the second half of 2021.
The drama will showcase the class discrimination and the life in the "new normal era" where infectious diseases have become common.
If Han Hyo Joo decides to join the drama, she will play the character named Yoon Sae Bom. She did not grow up with a great family. She's quick to action. Whatever she sets her mind to, she'll do. Yoon Sae Bom's motto is to live comfortably in this complicated world.
If Han Hyo Joo accepts the offer, this will be her grand comeback to the South Korean small screen since her 2016's drama "W" with Lee Jong Suk and Kim Eui Sung. The actress also received an offer to star in the upcoming webtoon-based JTBC drama "Moving" together with Jo In Sung and Cha Tae Hyun which is also set to air this year.
Han Hyo Joo previously appeared in the Japanese movie "The Sun Does Not Move" and the South Korean film "The Pirates: Goblin Flag" with Kang Ha Neul, Lee Kwang Soo, Kwon Sang Woo, Chae Soo Bin, and EXO's Oh Se Hun.
The actress's 2019 debut series in Hollywood "Treadstone" (a spin-off of Bourne film series starring Matt Damon) will exclusively air on OCN in the first half of the year.
