1. Bokura wa Kiseki de Dekite Iru
Japanese Drama - 2018, 10 episodes
Subtle and slow-paced slice of life drama, but so heartwarming and fascinating!
Takahashi Issei is phenomenal: with his microexpressions and, especially, his heartfelt smile carried the whole show! -
2. Return to the Wolves
Chinese Movie - 2017
One of the most beautiful, heartfelt and utterly humane documentaries I've ever watched.
A real life story filmed in breathtaking landscapes by the protagonists themselves, thus making it more impactful and touching...
That wonderful creature, Green, with his actions, maturity and devotion, can be a role model for so many humans.
Highly recommended! -

4. Little Q
Hong Kong Movie - 2019
Such a warm and gentle approach to the tight life-bond of visually impaired people and their guide dogs! Sentimental, but not overly-dramatic, it tells a beautiful story that is worth watching :)
-
5. Boku no Aruku Michi
Japanese Drama - 2006, 11 episodes
https://mydramalist.com/profile/penel/feeds/q1O5ASp
A beautiful, warm and inspiring story, about the every day life of an autistic young man living with his family and working as an animal caretaker in a zoo.
Kusanagi Tsuyoshi portrayed the demanding role of Teruaki flawlessly, with a subtle and realistic approach, while the rest of the cast, especially Teruaki's mother, depicted beautifully their struggles and worries while supporting him.
Though dealing with a difficult, challenging subject, the story never becomes overly melodramatic or distressing, and the tears it may cause are tears of pride and accomplishment rather than pity or misfortune.
Highly recommended! -
6. My Heart Puppy
Korean Movie - 2023
A simple but very heartwarming story, with a funny and cute friendship and some adorable canines.
With a warm and vivid cinematography, a script without the typical forced emotional manipulations and two MLs with a great chemistry between them and their four-legged friends, this was a charming, feel-good watch.

7. Okja
Korean Movie - 2017
It made me cry, it made me laugh, it made me angry, it made me sigh, it made me think...
Great cast, excellent CGI and a wonderful Ahn Seo Hyun -
8. Neko to Jiichan
Japanese Movie - 2019
A slow-paced heartwarming slice of (human and feline) life movie for cat-lovers!
A delightful film based on the manga series “Neko to Jiichan” by Nekomaki, where the cats, with their own stories and everyday life, are the main leads :) -
9. Little Forest: Summer & Autumn
Japanese Movie - 2014
Such a unique, heartwarming, soothing experience this film was!
Fantastic cinematography and camera work that depicted the ethereal beauty of rural Japan so gracefully! The moisty, foggy rice paddies, the cloudy skies, the colourful hills were just astonishing...
The documentaristic, narrative technique used, combined with Hashimoto's beauty, her soft voice and the well-fitted music made this experience even more fascinating!
The perfect choice for a lazy autumn weekend. -
10. Adoring
Chinese Movie - 2019
Cute, fluffy and furry!
-
11. Horse Doctor
Korean Drama - 2012, 50 episodes
https://mydramalist.com/profile/penel/feeds/4aNJZ7FB
An underrated saguek medical drama, depicting the journey of a young veterinarian, of a low caste and a birth secret, to becoming the Royal Doctor.
Though it was long and had some pacing and repetition problems, the interesting characters (one of the very few kings that wasn't pure evil or just a puppet, some rare SML and SFL that weren't scheming or infuriatingly annoying), the exceptional acting from all cast members, the inspiring and heartwarming story and -last but not least!- the fantastic performance from Cho Seung Woo, made this drama a very enjoyable watch.
A hidden gem and one of Cho Seung Woo's best roles. -
12. Hearty Paws 1
Korean Movie - 2006
A heart-warming and heart-breaking story of two abandoned siblings and their loyal dog.
Simple but poignant, with fantastic performances from all three leads: Kim Hyang Gi in her debut role when she was only 6 years old, Yoo Seung Ho in one of his first movies and Ma Eum (aka Hearty), a wonderful, talented dog.
Watch with care.

13. Dog Knows Everything
Korean Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
Pleasantly surprised by this funny, angst-free and heartwarming drama.
Full of positive and somehow bubbly vibes, even though all the protagonists were more than 60 years old, this was definitely a cozy, relaxing watch thanks to its refreshing unique story, great acting and camaraderie from the veteran cast, magnificent scenery - and the most adorable dog.

20. Quill
Japanese Movie - 2004
A great informative and touching life story cycle of a lovable, dedicated and hard-working guide dog.

21. Hachiko
Chinese Movie - 2023
Hachiko tells an emotional, wonderful story of loyalty and bonding between a man and his dog.
In this chinese adaptation Batong (instead of Hachiko) is still a fluffy, cute and most lovable puppy/dog and his relationship with his owner very endearing, but some of the original elements of the plot are missing, the pacing is a bit repetitive and the duration feels too long.
It may not be on par with the original japanese movie, but it still is a very emotional watch, based on a heart-warming and heart-breaking real life story.

No words can describe the wackiness, hilariousness and complete madness of this unique drama.

39. Ride On
Chinese Movie - 2023
Bittersweet and a bit sappy tribute to the stuntman and comedian Jackie Chan of our childhood.
The story isn't much, feels uneven and predictable, but Jackie's chemistry with his horse Red Hare and his smooth, experienced performance made this an enjoyable and very familiar watching experience.
