NEED TO WATCH
Guys this is the best cdrama of this year in my opinion, everything is perfect, and they paid so much attention to every detail. MiaoMiao and Ziqi’s chemistry is top tier, every moment they’re together I just got butterflies and I just began rolling around my bed with so much happiness. Their OST is also SOOO good, every song in this drama is sooo good I was honestly jamming out in a good ballerina way and that fact that every scene that they put the ost in matches perfectly to the exact vibe. The cast is unmatchable as well, choosing Ying Duxi and Esther Yu’s connection be real since they already had drama together which I WILL BE WATCHING since I need more of them in my heart. I HIGHLY Recommend this cdrama if you plan on watching it, every scene is so well thought out so once you watch this you’ll never stop. Was this review helpful to you?

Boring and ordinary
I saw this on Netflix and the teaser got me interested. The first few episodes were interesting but somehow as the story progressed it just got boring.
The writers tried to showcase the friendship and the romance within the friendship, their loyalty to each other but somehow I couldn't connect with any of it. It was all superficial and rushed.
The romance between the ML and FL as well as the 2Ls were meh. It was poorly developed. Perhaps if they added a few more longing glances and soft hand touches it might have helped, at least to strengthen the romance between the characters. Nuances of facial expressions and body languages are important to a story to capture and communicate with the audience. Unfortunately, the story lack such nuances to captivate the audience, well to me at least.
Maybe if they had developed the ML's demon side plot it would've been more interesting. Why did the ML choose to stay as a half human, hiding his demon side? Why didn't he choose his demon half as that character looked interesting?
The plot and the story didn't make sense.
I like the acting of the ML. That's one plus points for me here.
Also Cui Cui was so cute. Other than that, nothing really fantastic here.

Novel meets a game
The novel and transmigration stories aren’t new in CDramas but not many are as good as this one. This was a fun, amazing watch. The Good
The plot had a strong execution and was written well for about 95% of the drama with the exception of a couple of hiccups. Again, transmigration stories are common for CDramas but what made this one stand out was the integration of a novel into a game format and the acting. The drama had a great balance of story telling, romance and joy/fun and sadness. The characters were all interesting with our main 2 leads shining throughout. Their chemistry was just as good as it was in Moonlight. I also appreciated the production quality. The CGI, visual FX, costumes, sounds, and OSTs were all high quality and stands out from lots of 2024 dramas. Out of most CDramas in this genre, this one had a strong ending for me that wrapped up the story nicely.
The Bad
Had some throwaway episodes starting from around episode 18-26. The show took a slight downturn and had a couple of plot holes during these episodes that made it seem like they cut some scenes or just rushed some of the explanations. It made it difficult to watch especially since it was releasing an episode a day. I stuck it out for the leads.

Esther and Yu Xi 's Chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS
Okay, so I started watching the drama mainly cause I loved the pair in Moonlight. But OMG, they have not disappointed me with this one. The story is really captivating and the whole time, I never felt bored.A lot of times watching C dramas, it gets lengthy. But this was appropriate. Everything was worked out so well. I wish in the ending Miaomiao would have called him out "Ziqi". Nonetheless, a very satisfying ending.
I 100% recommend this drama to everyone who loves a good chemistry.
My only problem is Esther's acting is a bit too much for me.

a great drama with a bit of a frustrating end
Honestly, I came into this drama REALLY excited, since it has everything I use to love when reading webtoons, so I felt like I found the Holy Grail when I saw this drama that was just like 70% of all the webtoons/mangas I read lolAnd I’m glad to say that, despite the ending being a little frustrating and not exactly what I wanted or expected, this drama didn’t disappoint.
I loved the visual effects and the wardrobe of this show which was just on point and everything we expect when it comes to Wu Xia dramas. The soundtrack was also perfect in every moment and I even add the OST of the show to my playlist (that’s a first tbh).
Moving on, I loved the romance on this show! Both from them main couple, but also the secondary one. I loved how each couple had different struggles to deal with while trying to be together and how we get both: a friends to lovers AND an enemies to lovers here.
I’m not really a huge fan of Esther Yu, since I feel like most of her roles are too cutely for my taste, but I came to truly love her in this drama, seeing how much of a great actress she is, specially by the end, when she portrays different characters that share the same face and you can completely see the change happening between them and how none of the three are the same.
I also have a MAJOR crush on Ding Yu Xi now. The man is just… AAAAA I can’t even put it into words, but he’s just captivating and I loved every bit of him on this show.
Overall, I just want to say this is a great show and totally worth the watch, and although the end may be a bit frustrating it’s not like we, drama lovers, aren’t used to that.

Mediocre storyline saved by the leads and good CGI
I have mixed feelings about the drama. It's not too good of a drama but not too bad too. Some things n scenes I really liked specially the starting episodes till ep 12 n then the 5 ending episodes were well shot too. But the story overall is a type of mess n some things don't make a sense but you have to make it make sense🤣. I have still many unanswered questions n like evryone else few complaints. But it ended anyway so no use. So overall I enjoyed it specially becos of Ysx and DYX only. If it were any lesser actors in this drama i would have dropped it when in between the episodes became boring n bit childish. So storywise it's 8/10 for me but becos of both lead actors it's 9/10 rating from me.Was this review helpful to you?
A drama that leaves a lasting impression
I had so much fun in the beginning of Yong Ye Xing He, joining discussions on X (Twitter) here and there but as the show was about to end I couldn't even continue watching. One of the few times I felt so reluctant to part ways with a drama. Each character was written and portrayed very well especially our 4 main leads. Such chemistry between the 2 pairs and their team including CuiCui could melt any stone heart.
The premise itself is nothing new in cdramaland but for me what set it apart was the revelation in the end. How it was all tied up in the real world, how Ling MiaoMiao and Fu Zhuo are connected - their hardships and courage to keep moving forward...it was very touching.
Also very notable special element in the drama were their acting. This isn't the first drama I've watched from either YSX and DYX so it's very exciting to see so much growth in their acting. DYX especially never fails to make me fall in love with each of his characters. He's just wayyy ahead when it comes to acting. So much commitment, embodiment and respect he has to his roles. I'm sooo happy to witness him finally being seen by a bigger audience, being appreciated and lauded for such wonderful performance.
The OST are also perfect. Pleasing to the ears and can definitely bring so much memories from the drama whenever I listen to them on Spotify. The CGI and SFX are also perfect and definitely sticks to their concept of a game.
Overall, Yong Ye Xing He is one of 2024's best for me. Stood out among the rest due to their own brand of magic, pulling you into its own world and can make you understandably reluctant to leave.

The most beautiful final episode I have and will ever watch
Wow. To be honest I'm not really sure what else to say. I am stunned speechless by the whole of that final episode. I have never come across such mastery. I came into this drama thinking it was gonna be rather average and a time passer rather than a drama I was really really excited to watch and boy was I wrong. This drama was amazing and had me hooked from the very beginning. People say Esther Yu's acting is bad but I think she nailed it. The character is supposed to be that way which just proves that she is a very talented actress. Normally I would find the whiney voice infuriating and yet with her you just get used to it and it's almost as if you totally forget about it because it sounds so naturally fitting to the character. As for Ding Yuxi well his acting just continues to progress. Being a fan of him since The Romance of Tiger and Rose I have seen him progress drama by drama and wow he's come a long way. The fact he can go from angry to scared to upset and then calm and relieved all in the matter of about a 1 minute scene takes talent and he is absolutely filled with talent. The story was beautiful from start to finish with every character having depth and a well built story no matter how big or small their role. But now I come onto the most important part and that's the true meaning behind the fantasy world. The revelation in the last episode. Like I said, I don't really know what to say except wow. From the writing to the producing to the scenery to the acting, it was genuinely magical and I rarely rave about dramas endings because even when I love a drama the ending usually doesn't match up to the standards of the whole drama but this not only met the standards but elevated beyond what I could have ever imagined. I have never read the novel so this was a huge and honestly overwhelmingly beautiful surprise. I was so touched by it and will probably linger in thought about it for days to come. The whole drama is honestly worth it just for the ending. If you're missing happy ending dramas then not only will you be grinning from ear to ear watching the end but you will be moved to tears by it too.
Genuinely this drama is a masterpiece of production, direction, writing, acting and the emotion and depth each actor brings to each character is just incredible. The whole drama was just amplified by such a creative and stunning ending.

Must Watch
This is my first time writing a review in MDL. So far I have watched 19 episodes, Now I am waiting for the episode 20 can'twait to see it! I am really hook up with the good storyline, the costumes are great, the musics are wonderful, the CGI is spectacular, the actors execute their respective roles well. Hands down to the the team! I am hoping for more story development and plot twist that will keep me on edge. I think this is a complete genre: historical, fantasy, comedy, action, romance, melodrama and little bit of politics. 😘😘😘Was this review helpful to you?

This drama drew me in because the first few episodes were pretty funny. I think I would have enjoyed the drama more had it continued with the silly but funny video game plot. Instead, it turned into a standard, and maybe too long, wuxia fantasy before abruptly switching tone again toward the end. Esther Yu’s character did not develop much throughout the drama and between her expressions, makeup, and hairstyle, including too much debris in her hair, she kept coming off as baby panda. I assume that that was a deliberate directing choice. The male lead Mu Sheng (Ding Yuxi) and second female lead Mu Yao (Zhu Xudan) were fine. But every Chinese drama lately seems to have one major character who appears frozen and this time it was the the second male lead, Liu Fuyi (Yang Shi Ze). It didn’t help that he often wore light blue outfits, which accentuated his resemblence to an icicle. Was this review helpful to you?

well found it overrated
so what I liked :- the friendship
- the acting was good
- beautiful setting, cinematography
- the costumes are great
- romance was still cute, the chemistry was there
- the characters are interesting I guess
- very minimal love triangle, almost nothing, which is good
- mostly centered on the leads
- I like the scene with ML and his hairband and demon moments. I was here for ML, I just like this actor and he’s very handsome to me. FL is a good actress.
but I don’t know :
- this was mostly boring to me. first few eps were interesting, we were setting the plot and the characters, but I was mostly bored from almost eps 8 to 20. I was watching at 1,5x and not always paying attention. I dislike eps 17-20. (i don’t remember exactly, but the eps she was under the bracelet). Got a bit more I interesting after ep 20 for a few eps. last few eps were okay i guess, but i was still not that into it
- the romance wasn’t really giving to me, even if we got some cute moments
- a bit too childish to me
- second couple wasn’t really interesting, but the scene were he was controlled and we learned that he was actually dead, I think that was good and interesting, I was actually sad when he was dying
- classic unsatisfying ending, but I was expecting it. Classic meeting for 2 sec, we don’t see both of them, they don’t even have a conversation. I don’t think I can consider HE, it’s definitely more an OE to me. like they don’t know each other in the real world, (he knows her from childhood, but at the same time, they don’t know each other, she doesn’t know him personally, she knows he is an author) so it’s like meeting for real and getting to be together, she wasn’t interacting with the real him in the dream. Well or maybe he was and I misted something, but I don’t think so. but the backstory with the book was interesting
So, do I recommend, maybe it okay to pass time
