A (not really) happy ending to a (most definitely) crappy year

I did not like the 1st season at all. And after so many bad reviews of the 2nd season I was so ready to give up on watching it. But I gave it a try out of boredom...and man was it worth my time!!!! FINALLY a 2020 series I truly like!!!! Can I just say 2nd season has everything I think the 1st one was lacking: a good storyline, great timeline, no holes, almost no unnecessary fillers and a decent pace. Even the side couples I generally don't find interesting enough were good this time. So I really don't understand what the disappointment in most comments I read was about...for me season 1 was a huge disappointment but SEASON 2 IS GREAT!! loved it!!!!!
Definitely recommend it!

How Did I Make it Through this Once?

I just tried to re-watch this a second time, and I couldn't make it past the third episode. How did I watch it even once before?? I think I got swept up in wanting to see the cute parts I had seen on YouTube, which is basically just Tharn and Type fooling around and kissing. Everything else is toxic & immature. In this series Tharn and Type are supposed to have been dating for SEVER YEARS but still cannot communicate, still don't trust each other, and Type still gets annoyed when Tharn tries to show any affection for him. It isn't believable and it is difficult to watch. I will stick with re-watching the kissing scenes on YouTube.

Lukewarm, mildly plotless

I finally pushed through this show and I'm unsatisfied. Unless you condense the first seven-ish episodes, I wouldn't recommend watching.

The main problem was that this show didn't have anything significant happen before the 8th episode. It might be because I don't have the cultural background, but I don't think the last episode held as much significance as it should have.

I was happy to see how far all of our favourite characters have come, but Champ and Khunpol felt like a boring afterthought. Though Fiat was the heaviest conflict, his story with Leo kept me from hating him.

I'd rewatch a few scenes primarily from episodes 9 and 10, but there's not much that interested me.

It's good enough, but it's not a serie for everyone

Personally it was somewhat an enjoyable series but I wish there was more development with their relationship (such as communication.) It would've been nice to see more of that with them instead of just a lot of jumping to conclusions. Especially Types character...it bothers me, even though he's gotten some character development some of his attributes make me a lil eh, such as not fully accepting lgbtq even though he quite literally is part of the community?? Pretty confusing. It's a little icky, but it was good enough for me to continue it. I liked their couple and I wish they could've gotten another chance to show it.

Not as bad or good as the other reviews make it to be...

This season is pretty much what one can expect of a second season where the couples relationship has some pretty big trust issues and built on some kind of foundation of if you love someone you must own them... So seven years on it is pretty impressive to see that they where actually still together and kind of sweet and loving. Had it just kept to the sweet and loving the whole 12 episodes viewers may have ended up satisfied with their ship but we would not really have much of a plot now would we... Judging by many peoples reactions we did however get a whole bunch of disappointed fans .

In the beginning of the season I found myself wondering if the writer and actors where payed by the kiss/sex scene bordering on light porn while Type seemed to have matured and have gotten a slightly lower sexdrive Tharns labito was deffenetly still going strong but he no longer needed to use force to get what he wanted... And well both seem to be a bit overly dependent on/ obsessed with each other while lacking the oh so important trust, one may expect from a healthy relationship after 7 years of love... but they especially Type has gone thru some pretty good transformation ill give him that.

The dramatic parts are a bit milder yet recognisable from part one and the show does actually have a few good and important messages along side the odd and not so very healthy relationship advice it seems to convey. The drama also seems to give alcohol a lot more credit than it deserves... Some parts of the plot are repetitive, poorly executed and annoying lowering the entertainment value for this show. But I did learn a little but about buddhist culture that I previously had no clue what so ever about.

All in all an okay second season worth watching, but not much more.

Season 1 closed with such a great special episode that I initially decided not to watch the second season anymore, especially after reading terrible reviews about it. But still, I gave it a try, and boy I wish I really just stopped at the first season. TTTS2 actually started out just fine, but as the story progressed, the plot just became absurd. Production value was also lacking big time compared to the first season. The only thing that probably carried this season was MewGulf (especially Gulf), but even that wasn't enough to redeem this season.

The departure of the director and production from the first season and the arrival of a different team of creators (except Mame) was visible, and in my opinion, the second season did not reach as high a quality bar as the first season. The main couple had nowhere to go much further in their relationship, so Tharn often turned into a suspicious naive and Type into a dramatic hurt "hero", and the footage was more devoted to many new or old faces, and often their behavior in the plot seemed far-fetched to me (e.g. Fiat, Doctor). Nevertheless, the charm of the main couple almost remained intact and I admire these two young men aged 30 and 23, how they managed to do it all and that they had to go through hundreds of commercials, conferences, shots, where they had to keep patting each other, holding hands or giving each other kisses. ..
Mom should write "something" more from life, not these fairy tales, when always one of the main pair of faculty students is "fairly" rich (TharnType, Love By Chance), although I note that both projects were of a high level. I can admit that Tharn's scary brother Thorn (he's actually younger) struck me as gay the most, but he was playing straight (now in 2022 playing Tankhun in KinnPorsche) and Tharn and Thorn's parents were great, beautiful the mother, who would actually have had Thorne at about nine years old, and the father, a Thai-Austrian singer and actor, was nice.
A lot of people may curse these BL series, but without us realizing it, they serve one very important function. Which one? Guess...

Jakou? Hádejte ...

Another season. Sigh me up.

You telling me I get another round of watching TharnType. Please sign me up. I didn’t care much about Leo and Fiat and wouldn’t be watching their series. Back to my boys. People saying there was not character growth. Please spare me the sanctimonious comments. They were young guys, one was in love for the first time and still coming to terms of what it means overall. Plus let’s put your relationship on TV and see if it’s always smooth sailing and no childish arguments/issues.
Anyways I loved it.

TharnType 2: 7 Years of Love

So to prepare watching this drama, I rewatched the entire first season since it had already been year since I had watched TharnType and I couldn't remember it well.

This drama uses a trope that I don't like: the everyone is in a gay relationship trope. It's like why is this one friend group all gay? Yeah, it can be funny, but it becomes distracting to the story because you end up diluting the character's relationships. Side characters' stories don't get enough time to fully develop and it begins to feel like everything is just fanservice.

For a couple that's been together for 7 years, they're still dealing with a lot of issues that first and second year couple's deal with: they don't seem to have talked about any of their problems that they had during the first series. So I wonder, how have they lasted 7 years if they still have miscommunication problems, jealousy, and completely opposite values?

The drama did attempt to show how as two couples grow older, they have to endure their work problems and how work can affect a relationship negatively. But for me, that felt like a weak reason for them to always bicker and not communicate. I'm so stressed from work, so I'm gonna create faux drama so that we fight. Boring.

I don't think you'll lose anything from watching this drama, the first one wasn't that great to begin with. Maybe if they cut the first 5 episodes from season one, they could make it better.

A guide on how to go from bad to worse

Why do I do this to myself? Like I disliked the first season. And yet, here I am, suffering through another season of TharnType and their dysfunctional, toxic relationship. Also, when I talk about characters, I am talking about the characters and not the actors who play them.

I feel like most of the series was a repeat plot of the first season – jealousy, a lot of it, and the two of them being bad at talking with each other. There was no real character development in the first season, so going into the second season that is happening 7 years later, I had high expectations. My mistake, I guess. I really expected a more mature couple that knows each other and can trust each other. Yeah, that’s not TharnType. Honestly, how did they even make it this far in the first place? And the fact that the two are not even public with their relationship?

Let’s talk about the whole Tharn & Type and Leo & Fiat mess. Honestly, I cannot hate Fiat. He was supposed to be the villain of this story. And while there are many things that I don’t think were okay, he is too cute for me to hate him. He can be quite unlikable at times, though. I really love his “friendship” with Leo. Leo is an amazing character and I really loved how he was keeping Fiat in line, preventing him from truly becoming a bad person. Even if his reasons might have been a bit selfish. One question though – who in their right mind would agree to Type’s stupid plan of getting Fiat to confess his feelings? I could never forgive someone for putting me through that, especially if they claim they love me. The way our “mature” couple handled the whole situation, on the other hand, was a mess. No communication, of course. Some violence. And a lot of tears. It’s like a repeat of season one, I swear.

We got two more side couples. They weren’t show that much, but I think they were adorable. But maybe not that memorable. I do not like how Khui and Seo suddenly became Tharn’s and Type’s neighbors again. It makes no sense.

And while on the topics that make no sense (or even less than usual), what’s up with the whole monk thing? It’s like they ran out of plot and had to throw something completely random in, so they had enough material for 12 episodes. It just doesn’t really go well with the whole flow of the story.

The OST was nice though. I also liked the way they included the problem of homophobic work environments and how hostile they can turn. Let’s not get into how Type could have done things better. I don’t have enough energy for it.

Here we are again...

Seing many review write about negative thing make me want to write something.... Hahaha....

After read a bunch of the review here must be agreed with some point they all wrote, 7 years in the relationship don't make them be mature. 7 years in relationships don't make them learn how to communicate or talk about thing that important in their life. Just the steamy scene become much better... Haha....

Especially agreed with what yoonthethicc wrote in their review. The biggest problem that this couple have is the lack of trust they have with each other. But sometimes that what the writer did in all the drama, they make jealousy looked like what every couple must have, jealousy mean love sort of thing, without jealousy mean you don't love....

Yeah after read a bunch of review here I also realise this season gonna be better if they just focus on make their relationship better, instead give new characters that didn't help with character development, like Fiat & Leo. Ugh another toxic to the max couple we don't need in the drama.

Like many other i also like doc & champ. Although somethimes i shake my head how stupid champ can actually be...

What i like is the end when FINALLY Type talk about the problem in their relationship. But we can't really make sure will they be mature or not cause this is the end of our journey with Tharn & Type. And in the end i really think they cute couple & just can't bring myself to lower the score even with all the toxic thing that happen in this series.

I'm 3 episodes away from finishing this drama. I don't know if I want to continue it at all.

First of all, let me say that I enjoyed watching the 1st season of the series. I mean, I fell in love with Tharn and Type at the time they got together. I think its the 4th or 5th episode of Season 1. I loved that since the couple got together as early as Episode 4. Even if there are still obstacles and problems they are facing at that time.

Speaking of their obstacles and problems. I can't fathom the fact that even after 7 years of their relationship, they still have the same attitude towards together and towards solving their problem.

I actually love Tharn, even If he's always pouting his grown ass. I mean this is a grown ass man, but all he does is pout and constantly doing his sad face. I find it cute, but sometimes unbearable. Even until the second franchise of the series.

I love Type too, but I can't change the fact that I want to complain about his anger issues maybe (even if he's trying too hard to rise above it in this season). I hate the way that in every episode he's always mad doing his signature angry look face. I mean its still season 1 all over again!

What I hated the most while watching this season is that, I think that the characters in the series has a little to none character development. I loved that Type is trying to control his anger issues (i think he has one) but I don't think its enough for a character development. I kinda appreciated the way he solved that problem about the secretary who is hitting on Tharn, but I still somehow don't like how she confronted her with that dialogue which i think still harsh even though they think they adjusted the words so that it wont be really that descriminatory but still the same meaning lol.

Type's Boss! I didn't really understood well that arc at all. I mean, this man's boss randomly choose to make Type's workplace in hell without any real and apparent reason! I don't know if I just missed the real reason, all I know, is that he thinks Type is hitting on a nurse, (who is his lover?), so he is getting revenge on Type by abusing his power. Is that really the reason? I don't think the show has explored that arc very well.

I don't want this review to be longer. but I just want to say that I HATED FIAT's GUTS. Did the show really purposely made him that unbearable? Because I really hated him in that extreme.

I don't even think I wanted to finish this series after all. I'm on episode 9, and I want to jump to another series to watch.
